Good stuff. I haven't listened Scabdates on vinyl in a while.. Go home and take a bath!. Did you see the big discussion of the weight of the vinyl on the TMV facebook group? I really need to start collecting, before they get more expensive?! HA

By the way, love the simplicity of the car and something about the Red. I'm so deep with my E30 its refreshing to see something so turn key. I really lust for 2 E30's now.. Basic OE+ and Insane.

Weekend, with occasional weekday is a good stoichiometric use for enjoyment.

The frustrating thing is that the plate is already assigned to my car! So I'm paying the annual fee & I can't run my old plates apparently...

Thanks homie! I honestly didn't care for red cars until my old 2002. Really grew on me. When I was looking for another e30 I didn't care which color I ended up with (former pr0nzit owner lol). But yea Brilliantrot is a really cool color. I feel ya on the OE+ and insane e30. When I win the lotto I'll have a garage full of all e30 variants, each with a stock version and then a modded one lol.

Very clean car. How much you paid for it?

I got a pretty insane deal on it compared to the e30 prices nowadays...

FINALLY got the plates I ordered in March of 2021. I am pretty happy with how they turned out.

Now I just gotta get a replacement rear bumper.

Met up with a buddy yesterday who also has a 318is and went on a little cruise. I've really fallen in love with the m42. Been driving the car a lot lately, and it's running great. Still looking for a rear bumper, and I'm thinking of just respraying the hood and front valence as those are the only really awful areas of paint. Might be a nice temp fix cosmetically. Eventually I want to repaint the car but that won't be for a while. I'm OK with it being a 10 or 15 footer for now.

Replaced my prototipo wheel with a 370mm mtech2 recently as well:

Nice! Great to see a 318is getting some extra love. Not too many around these days sadly...

Had the car painted recently. Very happy with how it turned out. Finally installed the OEM rear bumper I bought a while ago - new OEM euro trim and rear bumper strip (first time I've ever had em in all my years of loving these cars). I put a replica Mtech1 rear wing on it before it went to paint. I'm trying to keep it OEM as much as possible but the old man in me can't justify $700 for a front IS lip, or an $800 Mtech1 spoiler because 15 years ago they were $100 haha. I am loving the paint matched IS front spoiler though, gotta say. I'm on the hunt for a "Ryan G" splitter - anyone have one lying around somewhere by chance?

I recently installed some Ground Control coilovers too but I'm still adjusting those. I'll take it out for a proper 3/4 wheel turn pic photoshoot once I lock those in lol.

I love this little car.... the wifey likes it more too now that it doesn't look like a shitbox.

The Hood paint alone turns up the looks 100%. I feel the M42 is under appreciated. 318IS's are fun to drive. I think after owning one, BMW fell short with this motor. They could have given more displacement, supercharger option and an oil filer housing that allowed a proper oil cooler, and it would be a legend.

Post more pics! Looks sooo good! Makes me reminisce over my first E30 which was also a Brilliant Red coupe.

Yeah that "before" pic I shared was right after I bought the car. I had it cut and polished and it certainly made it more presentable, but until recently the car was about 10 different shades of red. I love the M42. Such a fun motor to rev out. I have a 3.73 too so it's even slower than it should be - but it's really nice cruising at 80 on the freeway at 3k rpm.

Thanks man! Brilliantrot is such a cool color. I wasn't looking for a red e30, this one found me, but I'm really loving it. I'm still piecing a few things together, but I took a few more pics today:
