Sorry to hear about the cooling issues. But at least you've found the possible source.
Does the dash have to come out to swap the heater core?
Thanks man! I love how much they changed the look of the car
I'm just glad it's not an issue with the motor after all this. And I don't think so, it's pretty accessible once you remove the center console!
That's tonight's mission. Either try to fix it or loop the coolant lines in the engine bay to make it through the weekend and fix it later!

Car looks great. Coolant/engine issue is unfortunate. Hopefully after the rebuild it's trouble free for a long time.

And man Revshift would be such a better company if they'd just stop selling those cursed guibos. Everything else they make seems great but the guibo is such a POS that it gives them a shitty reputation.

Thanks!! It's a challenge to keep it looking clean, but when it is, there's nothing like it!

Thanks! I managed to bypass the heater core last night temporarily, and it seems to be running fine!
When I get a chance, I'll do a restore on all those components and hopefully that's the end of the problems

And I agree about revshift! I have the engine mounts and they're fine. I know those Giubos were no good but it's what I had on hand at the time and it's always been on the back of my mind about when will it destroy itself

some heater valves can be rebuilt. replaced the heater core and rebuilt the valve after pricing it out.

Hey Love the swap and list of items. I do have a question. I just pulled a M54B30 out of a 2003 330ci and was planning on using my original Getrag 260 trans and the oem e30 driveshaft. I do not think the stock clutch and flywhleel will work. What did you use for trans/clutch/flywheel? Did that change which driveshaft you used as well?

Yeah, I figured! I was going to take it all apart and find out what exactly is leaking and go from there! The valve is pretty expensive to replace

Thanks! The driveshaft has to match the transmission so if you keep the getrag 260, you can keep the stock driveline. For mine, I used the ZF320 so I matched the clutch and flywheel to the transmission. I'm not entirely sure about the setup with the E30 trans!
