I can see where you are coming from, a well taken of car is good though bc you won't have more crap breaking. You said this one had lots of maintance done right? That will save you a lot of money, the one I'm buying has not maintence history so I'll probably be fixing stuff for awhile.. taking money from fun stuff. Plus with a slower car you can get better at actually driving auto x and then once you get good and use to it then get faster.

The eta isn't that bad in auto-x. Because the immense amount of torque, you can stay at lower rpms and still keep moving.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

True.
I think im gonna spend my time and money restoring the car to as near perfect as I can and hopefully sell it in the next year. I plan on getting a set of springs and maybe a new exuast. Do you think anyone would be interested in trading a stock exuast for a system with a magnaflow muffler. I love the sound but when it comes time to sell it might put off more modest buyers. Anythoughts on the hood? Buying another red hood would be costly and theres a good chance the color fading will be different as my paint is abnormally good.

A lot cooler than my first car. If I were you I would swap over an iS cylinder head and call it a day power wise. I wouldn't spend too much money "restoring it to perfect condition" but definitely take care of the maintenance stuff. Cut springs are fine man don't spend any more money trying to make this thing a show car, enjoy it for what it is - a torquey old german ride with a 5-spd: recipe for a fun car. Also yeah take care of the clutch if you and your buddies are mechanically inclined. If you are still in search of more power look into M30 or 24v swaps1990 Islandgrun 535iM Sedan
