Idle air control is vaguely located on/near that runner on the sr20.
Or dammit it could be the PCV which means there has to be a check valve.

So heres my thoughts on intake design style for my engine. Can someone confirm that the vacuum port on cyl #1 here is for either the brake booster or for crankcase vent recirculation? This is a Jun style intake for an sr20det

Crankcase vent recirc would make more sense in this located due to the style of the manifold. With this style cyl 1 is usually the one that has the hardest time getting the most air. At least thats what it seems like from previous CFDs.Leave a comment:

fixed the no start issue, fired it up tonight and finished up some more engine grounding. I forgot to ground the alternator out so my battery would charge. Somewhere along the line I mis marked the coil wires and I was running 2 in the wrong holes. LOL
Things to do:
Install new driveshaft center support
Re-wire electric fan and fabricate proper mounting
Order boost fittings for VDO
Free air calibrate LC1
If all goes well ill do another intro video tomorrow.Leave a comment:

Those were taken from pictures ive saved while doing research on intake building. I didnt create those. Basically im becoming familiar with all the different parameters of constructing a functional intake plenum. Theres a ton of stuff out there related to N/A engines but im having a hard time finding intakes designed for F/I applications.
Theres a chance the rules are essentially the same in relation to flow turbulence and volume but the more I read the more things change.Leave a comment:

What software are you using to do the simulations? I have something I have been working on in Inventor ;)Leave a comment:

Im also opening up a whole new can of mo fackin worms.

Im currently tossin this idea around. Full custom intake plenum. Ive been researching flow problems/ design differences ect for quite some time.
Bottom line is the stock M42 intake sucks a fat chode. So does the TB.
I will most likely run a m50 tb with a JUN style plenum design like this.
In for ideas/ guru's/ smart techy peeps for input.
Pics of mock up model built from high density card board coming soon.
The second render is designed with 2 barriers placed in areas close to cyl 1 and 2 to help aid in sufficient flow to all cylinders. Very interesting stuff.

Heres how the car sits as of now. Ive come to the conclusion that 205s suck. Its just not enough meat to put anything reasonable down and well, yea.

So ive opted out of 16s entirely on both my e30s. Running a square 225/50/15 setup here. I really like the look of 15s. Think ill probably end up staying with that size for a while. Form is nice but this car is so retarded, function and drive-ability are more important goals of mine.
In other news Ive been trying to diag a no spark issue with my MS. Heres the guts of the system. Still need to run some more tests. Really pissing me off right now.

Stock brakes are upgraded to some vented discs and some better pads. Will see how these work out. yes, I know, two lug nuts=fail. Dont worry, just a roller for now.
My goal is to be back on a dyno in two weeks or less. By then I should have the car back up to test out the new clutch and actually see what this thing can put down. Its been over a year and a half since Ive been there with the car.
