no, engine runs fine without cam sensor. as I understand just sequential fuel injection doesn't work because of It.

sometime later will disassemble engine and check what's gone wrong.

but in the meantime some goodies arrived, new header, as the old sebring had done it's best and is pretty burnt out.

It's some ebay header, but I kinda liked design and price, I believe I will modify It a bit and it will be pretty ok, as well I have plans on exhaust valves, so maybe I could gain some +1 hp more
old one how it looked when I bought It, already 10 years ago

first, engine is still unhealthy I had no time and inspiration to fix it slowly but antifreeze is getting in oil, I drive a little and change the oil frequently.. maaybe this winter I will repair it!

                  buut, tuninK first!

installed new exhaust header, as I said after a long search I found the one I liked.

then made new connections with v bands

after that of course middle part
                  in progress

                  something like this

and bolted on car connecting it to old exhaust

made some extra heatshields etc. and everything works fine.

aalso readjusted valves, so everything was ready to roll

then, wanted to change something for this season, a bit refreshed my old wheels that I used few years ago

                  so from this

to this, also changed my old lip to IS lip

aaaalso, as you know I have rally e36, and since there are mostly E30 fans here, so DTM etc.

made new livery to my racecar, how do you like It?

noticed these cracks near the 3 head screw locations.

so, the e30 is alive again

..a crack was found in the head

we repaired the crack not by welding, but by filling it with aluminum

after repairing the crack, we also replaced the guides, cut the seat angles, and straightened the camshaft tunnel

While I was waiting for the head, I repaired the stripped head bolt thread.

then the call came, the head was ready!
I received the head, everything seemed fine, only the plane of the head seemed a little rough to polish, but the master said that everything should be fine, okay, let's put it together.

                            new supertech std valves installed

This is what the repaired crack looks like

ok let's put it all together.
the inlet gaskets need to be slightly enlarged :D

Everything is assembled, let's try to start it!

                            ...BUT, fairytale gone bad

as I said, I didn't like how the plane was polished.
already when I bled the system I felt that something was wrong...
so antifreeze in almost all cylinders...

since I had to prepare for the rally, the e30 stood aside for a while, after two weeks I took the head off again, took it to the local guys to polish

these guys are serious, they polished it up, now everything is fine
interestingly, the head was very crooked, 0.12mm was ground off

I took a test drive, se everything is perfect now.

a little bit of lumpy m20 idle

                              actually....

before the engine repair, I did a few things that were long overdue.

the seat fabric had been torn for several years

I ordered a ready-made fabric and replaced it. It fits and looks very good.

I took the steering wheel from my rally BMW

since the driver's seat is also broken, I replaced it with a sports seat for now...also from a rally bmw...just like a short shifter
                              nice office

at the same time I corrected old mistakes
I had just made him, I knew that everything was bad there, but there was no time to redo it
so I made a new and good y-pipe

I also changed the diff from typ168 to typ188, as well as the ratio from 3.38 to 3.91

and it was time for the side skirts too...they had been sitting on a shelf painted for 6 years
I had them glued on before, this time I put everything on clips

and then the engine story began...which as you can see has been solved
