you'll want the 3.91s, although I think the shorter gearing will suit the S54 pretty well.

I just put the 3.91s in last week, so that's a plus! I couldn't handle the car with a 5sp and the 4.10s.

80mph at 4K RPM gets old fast.

3.64s would be ideal, but I fear they might be too slouchy for the setup.

I have too much stuff going on- need to prioritize and make a concrete list of stuff to do, that way it can actually get accomplished.

1-Fix Rear Toe (Dungeon Motorsports camber/toe kit), install trailing arm and subframe bushings, rear sway, ebrake cables
        2-Front GC Camber Plates
        3-Paint IX Weaves
        4-Buy 225/45 RS3s
        5-Alignment
6-Mechanical (HG, Studs, TBelt, WP, IM, VC, Oil Cooler, Shifter)
7-Rust Repair (Sunroof Drains, Battery Box, Rad Support @Copperhead Refinishing)
        8-Paint/Install Flares
        9-Drive

Had a little photo-op with the Evo before she goes to a new home. Figured you guys may enjoy even though it's 'JDM af' and not German.

Anyone have any suggestions for a nice looking gunmetal color? I need to find this color:

Might just be my phone but that 5 looks just black to me. What shade if gunmetal are you going for? Like diamond Schwartz almost?

I would say a tad bit more 'grey' than a diamond schwartz. Better representation:

S54 in it's native habitat (E46 M3) has a 3.62 and it's hardly slouchy. THe E46 also has taller tires than an E30, so take that into consideration. I don't think 3.64's would be slouchy at all and would help out with RPM on the highway.

Right on, that's good to know. I'm on German eBay all of the time, can't seem to find a solid deal on 3.64s or else I would've pulled the trigger already.

The long gears I want, but it's the S54 vs turbo that I can't make my mind up about. I've turbo'd a lot of stuff, but the n/a swap route intrigues me.

Who knows, I'm sure once the Evo is gone I will want another turbo car in the stable.

My stroker iX has 3.64s. I may plan to turbo it but should be able to give you some more information on the gearing. It will be NA with MSII first though.;D

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Right on! Would love to hear more about it. MS for the win!

The iX got a Brad Penn oil change, Wix filter, and new IE Wires + OEM Plugs today. Made the car run 10x better. Now if only I can get the motivation to put a new fan in the car- the clutch is stuck on, sounds like an old Mack.

Held it for a month for the guy, and he backed out

Per our deal he didn't want the car tuned, so now that he isn't buying it I had to get it done. Kind of glad I did, now I can rip in the mean time before it goes.

iX sold. Car needed too much work to get it where I wanted (body wise). New owner is doing the rust and paint repair and putting the RS' on. I will still be maintaining the car mechanically for him.

Now I want a 2002, and this popped up 10 minutes from me:
