yes it is tight on the oil pan, well spotted. I think I need position 3 as I also have AC but I could perhaps mount the compressor in line with the PS pump and have a belt driving both. But it might be fine in position 3 with the current belt arrangement. Think is going to be a winter job, might just collect all the bits over time. have got the E28 radiator, haven't got the new oil pan yet and looking out for the correct mounts. Is the oil pan a direct swap, I have an oil level sensor. Not even sure why they put a different oil pan on it, or was it that at the time the current pans would have failed and it was only the later pans that weren't out at the time would clear.

Alpina thanks for the link do these fit the B32 which is what I think the 333i is?

Alpina and Hartge in in the early 80's had to make a front oil pan sumps for their m30 and s38 swaps.
The m30 b32 and b34 can be swapped for a e32 or e34 m30 oil pan. Also will need e32 or e34 oil pick up.

You can keep the AC compressor in the stock location if using position 3, it will clear the e28 radiator.

Ok in contact with Tino.de to get a set of his type 1 mounts. Have read somewhere that there is a water pipe at the back of the head that needs moving anyone got any details. I think it is only the b32 variant that has this issue, also something about brake lines. However as I am factory M30 not sure if relevant. 100% what is relevant though is changing the sump! any is it only just the oil pick up or is it the pump as well.

I have no idea what "type 1" mounts are, but if you mean "position 1" you won't be able to use anything but a custom radiator, as your engine will practically be hanging out the nose of the car.

The pipe at the back of the head only exists on b32 and b34 cars IIRC.

You shouldn't need a custom sump/oil pan unless you are planning something extreme??

As my car is factory M30 it is running a custom pan well Alpina one, look at the post a few posts up for the clearance with the current mounts. If the engine is to comeback 30 or so mm then it will hit the rack. Type 1 is the bracket type which has position 2 and 3 available from the below link.

And my engine is the m30 b32 trying to google around to find the details about this pipe.

                Cheers

Tino's 300mm de. motor mount type 1 will work for you for position 2 and 3 location.

On the water pipe on the back side of m30 head. I would not delete it. I would massage the fire wall to clear the pipe.

Does your Alpina 333i still have the Alpina big brake kit?

been looking at your threads I think you have most of the Alpina stock. I was trying to get a new top pipe for my Alpina Radiator but couldn't justify the price for a pipe. Ended up making do with what I have. Did you recently purchase the alpina gauge pod that must have hurt the back pocket.

I use to have a real 1984 Alpina B6 2.8 e30 19 years ago. That's why I been searching for Alpina parts for years to build my Alpina B6 3.5 dream. I bought the Alpina vent gauge from Germany a few years back. Yes it did hurt the pocket for a short time. The Alpina seats hurt the same way too.

there is a story behind my vent gauge, it was destroyed during some welding it got zapped luckily it was replaced before the items went £££££££

this was before I owned the car, I think I have some hartge catalogues here and also a brochure from a tuning company offering turbo conversions in the early 90's

Also have a microfiche with the 333i parts listed not sure if that is rare

                                Are you collecting Hartge catalogs?

I have a few specs on Alpina 333i in my Bmw 1977-1990 Gold Portfolio. On Alpina 333i m30 b32 horse power says 194hp?
