Damn get well soon, I think I'm a more careful driver now that I own an E30. My kids are with me most drives and that worries me a lot in the event of an accident. Good luck if u are going to repair it or find another sweet ride. 👊🏾

That's painful to see. Such a clean car. I have good insurance on my E30 but it was hard enough for me to find what I have, which isn't great, so I would be hugely pissed off if some moron totaled my car and I had to go through the whole find and mod process again.

            Thanks for the replies guys/gals.

So far the insurance process has sucked. One of the drivers at fault has retained an attorney and is refusing to talk with anyone. The other driver at fault is admitting to some liability but the % is to be determined. My insurance is moving forward with their own claim which seems stupid but we shall see. Insurance guy says: "I just ran the value on your vehicle and I'm waiting for it to come back. More than likely I'll have it Monday. If it comes in today I'll call you today."

I was this close to emailing back telling him not to try and lowball me but I'll wait to see what he comes up with. We know what these cars are worth, it seems they've gone UP in value over the past couple years.

Does anyone have any recent sales of 1990 E30's? 4 door preferably.

I hope you get a fair settlement for the car and as difficult it could be to find another as clean maybe you will end up with something better in the long run! Stay positive dude!

Fight the insurance's valuation. I bought a car for $1500 and it was damaged. I fought with insurance tooth and nail and I just settled for $21.3k and I kept the car.

You can get $7k out of your car EASILY. You just have to be smart about it.

Glad you are ok. Yep! definitely my worst fear car wise. Getting rear ended in my Vert after spending an insane amount on her resto/modding.

Sad to see. Hope it all works out well and I am glad you will recover.

Offtopic-ish: it seems as though stated value insurance policies may be the way to go with these cars if they are in good condition.

                            You guys/gals ready for this?

Dude FINALLY came back with a value, after 12 days, how does $2,8XX sound?

I told him that it felt like a giant middle finger. Been jumping through the various hoops to increase value ever since. Learn from me, get an insurance company worth a damn, preferably one with a local agent...

just because they came up with a value doesn't mean you have to accept it.

consider hiring an appraiser. also, ask them what sort of comps they are using. with mine, they tried to compare it to high mileage '92 E36s, because they couldn't actually find any comps for a '91 ix. A '92 325i is basically a parts car, so naturally the initial offer was very low.

I ended up getting $7k (appraiser cost me $100 or so), and that was back in 2007 before E30 prices started to climb.

my brother did the same, in the early 90's walked away with over $7K for my old 85e, which he had painted, it was very clean, and it wasnt wrecked, engine fire,
