yep! haha, it sucked, because my car started up the first try yesterday, but wasn't getting any pressure so I couldn't run it for very long.. it was just teasing me, I knew it ran, but I couldn't drive it!

the bottom end has 86mm metric mechanic pistons (10:1 CR), 81mm e crank, S50 rods, lightened flywheel (about 7lbs off). I rebuilt the head last summer, ported and polished with a schrick 284/272 cam, all new valves, rockers, etc. I also have IE shorty headers, but I'm not sure those make much difference, I'd like to do full length headers next summer. still have the stock cat, and a supersprint catback exhaust. intake manifold, AFM, and airbox are all stock - eventually I'll do a MAF conversion as well. I also have 19lb injectors which I had rebuilt (all within 1% of each other) and an AFPR set at 4 bar.

the strange thing is the car actually got quite a bit louder.. not really bad, it just sounds different. and of course it's WAY faster.. I can't wait to actually tune it! right now I'm using the bavauto chip I bought years ago, it ran rough at first but it's getting better, and as I drive it more I can feel the power picking up. the ECU was totally confused for the first 10 minutes after I started up, it kept telling me to check the engine. :D

there are still a few minor issues.. my heater vent fan doesn't turn off when I shut off the ignition (maybe related to my issues before), my interior is a disaster, and I don't have a boot of any sort on the shifter so I can hear everything from the tranny/exhaust/starter. otherwise everything is smooth, and it's a blast to drive! :)

this was a HUGE project, which took me months of planning (and you don't even wanna know the cost), and I had 4 days worth of issues/setbacks to sort out, but now that everything is done it was definitely worth it!

I'm not really sure what I will do for tuning.. I've been thinking a piggyback, probably the SMT7, and of course a wideband. then I have to find an AWD dyno.. we'll see!

Built motors have a different sound, it's true.

Sounds like a BADASS motor, Chris!

I hear ya in terms of exhaust note! My car has gotten louder too! When I get above 4 grand, the car just screams! Cannot wait to get an aftermarket exhaust! I don't know how long my stock exhaust with a hole will last to make me happy.

holy old thread! no, no dyno yet. haven't gotten around to it. I'm pretty happy with how it runs anyway so it would just be to see what the #s are. plus I have to find an AWD dyno in my area..

i found some oem ix strut mount plates that are like less than of a degree offset... did you say you were going to sell yours?

those only go in the positive direction (they are left and right handed so you can't put them the other way). I modified mine for about 1 degree negative camber. and no I'm not selling them! :p

yeah... whats keeping a normal camber adjustment plate from working?
