Not worth doing for one socket, and they might not go for it, but Lowes and Ace sometimes honor the old Craftsman warranties. I would suggest, go in to the store, locate the comparable item on their shelves (maybe look online first) and then take both to customer service. I have had success doing that, and failure just taking the item to the service desk. I've only bothered for ratchet wrenches and the like, and doing it classic Sears style with a pile of broken stuff probably won't go down well.

Well, none of the attempts to make the wheels nice was working. Reminded myself it was a sh!tbox and deserved to be treated like a shi!box.

Primer spray bombed, followed by Rustoleum Metallic Silver spray bombed. Once that was dry, I went and installed the BRZ take-off 215/40 Michelin Pilot Sport 4s

      Solid 10-footer now.

Was messing around and made a quick 20 second video. Hopefully the link works

"Done" ... if it survives a year I will address the drop of oil it leaves when I park it, during the turbo and clutch upgrade. But thats a 2025 problem.

        Damn, that looks pretty sweet.

If you polished up those headlights, that might bump it from shitbox to turd

I was thinking the same thing, the wheels came out great, the car looks good, the headlights would make it 1000 times better.

Could've had an E46, unclipped the covers, and replaced them.

Almost bought a wagon with a blown motor, wouldve easily spent my budget and still had a pile that ran questionably...I'm happy with my 40mpg of this sh!tbox.

Yeah the headlights made a huge difference. Just polished or did you clear/apply a coating after?

                    Edit:
                    Also, thanks!

I used the 3M kit. Started with a 500grit -> 800grit -> 3000grit, wet sanded. Then it was clearcoated, but I might add a better clear... probably not

I will probably do something similar to the mini whenever I get around to fixing the plethora of issues lol

Its crazy how much a difference it makes, every older car I have owned I I have done it to the headlights and taillights. The rest of the car can look bad but if the lights look clean it changes the entire feel.

It definitely was worth it. Lets see how long it lasts. I should've done a better clearcoat, but time will tell how this does.

Changed the oil at my buddies Oil Change night. Knocked out 6 oil changes. I was trying to be first in and first out so I could hang out, but Advance Auto supplied the wrong Oil Filter so I had to make a last minute run to get the right filter.

Currently at 232,xxx and while I could change it at 10k, I'll likely change this one at 240k so I can easily track the times to change it.

Not much else planned at this time, she needs a bath soon haha

Edit: I also met up with a TDIclub member and he ran the VCDS Diagnostics.

                              Codes:

008213 - Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1)
000280 - Engine Coolant Temp Sensor
01221 - Crash Sensor Side Airbag
01578 - Airbag Deactivation Warning Lamp
                              00856 - Radio Antenna
                              00849 - S-Contact at Ignition/ Starter Switch
01317 - Control Module in Instrument Cluster
01299 - Diagnostic Interface for Data Bus
                              02873 - Control Module for Back-Up Camera

Airbag light is from the door sensor, likely the common wiring issue. The few codes from the radio I'm not too worried about, especially since I plan on hooking up the rear view camera soon (which wasn't on the OEM radio, so weird it popped up here). The intake manifold flap sensor I'm very curious about. Not sure why the Coolant Temp Sensor is on...
