Do you really mean "less than the S14 motor" or "less than the S14 motor and tranny?"

Either way, it would be very nice to see some hard numbers. I was looking into a 13B swap, but then decided to go with an M20 stroker since it just seemed like the rotary swap would involve a ton of custom fabrication...much more than I could handle, anyway. I wasn't sure if the 13B would be powerful and reliable enough to make the swap worth it.

However, if the 13B-REW with OEM twin-turbo setup fits the E30 engine bay without too much trouble and is really as light as you guys say, then I might have to seriously rethink my M20 stroker project!

Yea that's probably s14 w/ trans. still a healthy weight savings.
as scbeamer will tell you even an FC (turbo) with the 13bt will easily waste an e30. Stock FD makes 255hp/215tq that's a pretty healthy gain over the m20 or s14 just stock for stock. Single turbo setups get into the 400s.

Going to talk to Steve Osley tomorrow hopefully put together a time frame to get the keg assembled and get started with getting this thing in. I think he's in the middle of a 20b build so a lil busy right now. It's ok I can wait a while in order to save a bunch o' $$$$$$.
Just to clear a few things up:
            1. Yes I have a 20b intercooler Steve found it in his crawlspace under his house. :) Slighty better than the PATHETIC FD one, i have one of those too.
            2. Stock twins ( Non - sequential setup )
            3. Stock ECU for now
            4. No Emissions, no cat, no nada
            5. Boost controller with mild setting planned
            6. Stock FD trans
            7. will need custom driveshaft
            8. Need better Diff for rear end still
            9. FD radiator fits perfectly got one for 20 bux.

about the e30 diff: just pick up a 3.73 large case from any 325i and you will be good to go. What is the factory rear end on a rx-7?

e30's only had med and small case diff's. A large case diff won't fit on an e30...

You are really going to need a standalone unless you keep the cats... Also the Stock e30 rear shouldn't have any problems. Matt325is has been running 300 + WHP for 30k miles on his car with no issues at all. Also all the FD guys upgrade to bigger rads because they all seem to have cooling problems. You are going to at least run 850/850 injectors with anything more than stock boost. You are also going to want to get a bigger IC, intakes and ignition upgrades. One of my best friends is a rotor head. He has had 4 FD, many FCs and a SA..

christ! nobody cares about your semantics. in the E30 world, there are only two diffs. we don't really give a fuck what came on 7 series etc.

tell someone thats new to bmw's they need a large case. They come back w/ a 7 diff and are pissed that it doesn't fit then you let em cry on your shoulder. Semantics would be something like 6 or a half dozen, not two things that are different lol.
