Since you have extra $ to play with, don't be silly with those shocks. Just do it the first time. $400 and you'll already have everything apart. Might as well do control arms, bushings, and tie rods while you have that apart too. It will take away from the experience to have clunks. And you will have clunks. Especially if you run the stock shocks... I'm assuming Vogtland's are more than .5 in lower than stock -

all of the suspension is in such good shape, i honestly cant justify replacing this stuff until its worn out. i dont even want to put the springs on yet, but i hate the stock ride height...i mean, i dont have a SINGLE torn, or cracked bushing...zero...it seems impossible i know but its true. ive had a few bmw buddies come over and check the car out while i was doing the clutch. none of us could find something worn or torn while it was up on the lift. simply amazing, its almost like this car was sealed in a vacuum chamber. for the time it would take me to put new shocks and struts on the car when they wear out, from start to finish is going to be what....an hour or two max w/ the alignment? i'll hold off for now, plus it gives me an excuse to work on the car again. :D

ok got the vogt's in the mail, as soon as i got off work i tossed them in and the install was painless... also recived the OEM IS lip and 10 clips for a decent price of $132.xx but thats in the process of being painted, i should have it back tommorow. rear filler is on order and i should have it next week, i guess they are on BO. some pics of ride hieght, the springs had 0 miles on them, just pulled it off the rack and went over a speed bump.

i love the stance, exactly how i wanted it. im sure it will settle more but as a side not i left all the spring pads in... i contemplated taking the fronts out but when i inspected them they were like 2-3mm thick combined...i didnt see the purpose of removing them and i left both rears in place too. im glad i did b/c those were pretty thick and i cont stand a reverse rake.

thanks guys...yea the detail is a loooong process, the paint is almost done. i was using a machine at first but stopped, i didnt like how it was coming out so now i bought this stuff from our detail supplier and its fantastic! im doing it all by hand. i'll shoot the name of the product later, i'll be using back to black on the trim, i havent done that yet. lol ive been driving the hell out of this thing w/o any hickups so i deff trust it now to go anywhere.

installed the lip the other day...enjoy my picture whoring. everyday is something new.

i think im going to paint the brake ducts black when the bumpers are resprayed and de-chrome the grill. what do you guys think?

searched for a wiring harness adapter, first they gave me one for a vw, then they gave me the correct one for an actual bmw which was still incorrect...going to return it...worst buy had no clue...completely unhelpfull, then the power of search prevailed

anyways, i found this thread for a headunit install w/o re-wiring the car. im happy for now, the sounds is ok...much better than having no music, and i can now hook my i-pod through the aux input, fantastic. i know most of you will frown on using the craptastic factory amp but i could care less for now. it works lol.

                      http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...+radio+install

i used crimp connections and heat shrink, made everything MUCH neater, no hack job here. i went with a JVC KD-HDR20, cheap and functional for now untill i decide to do a high end system w/ new speakers, amp ect... it has bluetooth, hd radio ready, and sat ready...$120

WELL.. its been a long while since i updated my build thread on my $500 e30, so im going to bring it back up to date...Ive been super distracted due to my complete resto on my e34 540/6... BUT its time to focus back onto the e30, shes been a great DD over the past 2 years while i worked very hard on the e34

over the past 2 years, i have added the following

-Mishimoto e36 dual core aluminum radiator
                              -Bilstien sport shocks
                              -e30 m3 front CAB bushings
-New Lemforder control arms, tie rods, sway end links
                              -e30 vert front swaybar
-Mark D chip: 93 octane, 7k rev limit, 19# injectors
                              -Bosch Design III injectors
                              -Front and rear fenders rolled
-ATS DTC Complites 17x7 (for the track)
-225/45/17 Kumho V710 racing slicks (for the track)
                              -M-tech 1 steering wheel
                              -Alpina clone gauge cluster
                              -Cluster trim rings
                              -e28 M-tech 1 rear wing
-Wrinkle finished the valve cover black and polished the lettering
-US ellipsoids w/ DDM tuning 4.5k HID's, Fogs are also 4.5k
