Yeah... I like the round ones. You need to review the first rule of Italian driving.

I like the rectangle mirrors. They fit the overall shape of the car better than the round ones.

Since I need to remove the doors to see just how high up they DAPO welded on the outer rocker the doors need to come off. My door pins were a little nerve wrecking so I figured why not order a fresh set, especially since it appears the rear doors are held on with a long bolt & nut... and while Im ordering stuff from Classic Alfa I also ordered some mirrors.

The parts arrived and I was eager to put the mirrors on.

    Before:

Dont mind the dirt or the lazy headlight surround...

    After:

Still not totally in love with the look, but I do like the fact that the mirror is actually useful. Probably going to sell the round ones soon as I dont see a scenario that I will put them back on and maybe someone else can use em...

And now that the door pins are here I will explore taking the doors off, shielding the interior and grinding the paint until I see the seem of where two become one...

Yea man, at this point I think this car will have to go down to bare metal before they repaint in. At that point the rust in the doors and front and rear valences will expose themselves as well lol

The rust is always deeper than it seems.

Oof. I think your next project should be a Trabant.

Finished up a video related to the bottom end, and have already begun on the next phase. If you’re into that stuff, click below

With that done, I’m now working on the rocker repair video, and since I’m not going to use a few of these showing what I feared was hiding ...

***WARNING THE FOLLOWING PICTURES ARE WHATS HIDING IN OLD ALFA ROMEO ROCKERS ***

with the outer rocker out of the way, the deeper rust is evident

and again you can see that once again they simply welded the new panel right on top of the old, rusty one

Not sure, I need to get the crank cleaned up and measured before I order the bottom end rebuild kit. I was on the fence about Carillo rods, but now I think its a must... Just need to sell this other motor so I have money to burn
