I ask the guy what he set the toe to and he tells me thirty. I ask him if he means thirty minutes? He looks at me funny and says "no, degrees." Really? You set my toe to THIRTY DEGREES? REALLY now. I know what he meant but I sort of have a disposition to hate these guys since I'm paying them $70 to do 20 minutes of work I could easily do myself.
You got hosed $70 for an alignment!? My family's shop will align to your specs as long as you can explain why you want them so. All for a pair of $20s

Please--don't remind me. I live in a small college town and don't really have a lot of options.

The alignment targets on the rear wheels are there to measure thrust angle, not because they were charging me to set the rear alignment too (although they did try and tell me that they should set the rear toe).

You should have told them to go ahead and try :p

I look forward to getting an alignment, them claiming that they will align the rear, then them saying that it's nonadjustable when I ask about it, then explaining to them that it IS in fact adjustable now.

                          I've actually been there vacationing.

In order to actually measure anything other than front camber you need to have all four wheels. Toe is based off of the opposite front and respective rear in order to figure out vehicle square via laser/string. Rear camber is based off of the readings of the other 3 sensors as almost every alignment lift is not in plane with true level.

I've had to explain this several times to customers thinking they are being charged for a 'four wheel alignment' when we are only fixing toe.

Worst thing as a mechanic is telling someone the car they just bought was in an accident, and so far out of square it is dangerous. That has only happened twice.

WoW! I just spent my morning reading your build. Great stuff man, once again I can't wait for warmer weather. I have so much crap piled in my room to install.

15x8 +20, 225/45R15 Hankook RS3s. Awesome grip. Even with 3 1/2 people in the car (one 270lb guy) there is serious grip.
