Jean I ALMOST felt sorry for ya, everything you touched today went to shit from the get go. It must have been the waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswafflesy pink towel.

Don't remind me, very unproductive weekend.

Well, today I got some cheap ass KYB rear shocks to put on the car. Now all 4 bilsteins are ready to be shipped off.

I am pretty sure the rears are the same, so they just need to be re-valved...but the fronts need to be rebuilt/revalved.

front f4-p30-0334-h0 (need to be changed to f4-p36-0335-h1) and rear f4-p30-0334-h0 (same as on late model cars)

I lowered the rear almost to it's lowest setting to see how it would look, front I couldn't adjust as much since I am on a borrowed set of front stock 325i strut housings and the stock spring hats are in the way.

Oh, and my pimp trunk liner...for that extra 10 hp haha.

Ok, so made as much progress as I could today. Sanding , sanding and more sanding still left to do.

This is what I had to start with, used front and sides...rear was new so didn't require much sanding.

Anyway, the front valance had what looks like 4-5 layers of paint in areas. I used about 3 cans of SEM bumper stripper before using 320 grit paper.

Bubbling old paint after spraying it with SEM can... this is coat #1.

Here you can see previous coats of paint showing.... FUN

          After some sanding

          and more sanding still

Will probably spend another couple of hours sanding it tomorrow and it will be ready for paint! Can't fucking wait.

Rear is on the car, almost ready for paint as well.

And I haven't even started on the skirts yet....

Sweet, although the single exhaust pipe looks goofy with the double-wide cutout. Plans for that?

Also waaaait, why are you painting the rear on the car? I hope you're at least going to take the rubber moulding off.

Well, it's easy to remove the bumper with valance (6 bolts)...or car can be covered etc and strip taped off etc.

The issue is when you have a rear valance the strip is not attached with the same 'clips' and instead you use specific flat head "bolts" that slide into the strip and hold the strip+valance to the bumper. pita.

                    These things are used :

So you can't really remove and re-install the strip quickly/easy anymore when you have a valance installed.

Nope, no point in going 5 lug...especially now that more and more 4x100 wheels are out and Lee makes a BBK :)

For DD? I'll use these RAs as the tires are brand new. Eventually I'll like to get some Hartge or RD wheels. I have TRM C1s in 15x8 with 225/50 v710 autocross tires, but they aren't dd combo.
