Little Update: Getting my car smoke tested next week to test for a vacuum leak I'm pretty sure I have but can't find.
Also got roofracks with locks/keys for a price too good to pass up.
Now to buy a bike attachment to put this rack to use :)

Also just got a Nikon D5100 DSLR, so I can take some good photos!! No more iPhone photos! Whoot!!!!!! Gotta learn how to use it though, and learn photography for dummies 101. haha.

lets see some updates!? its been a while

Haha, Sorry, a lot has happened and kept me busy.

I bought a parts car, well it was my buddy's who had crashed it and didn't wanna deal with it so he gave it to me for too good of a price to not take advantage.
          Here's how it sits now...

This will be a donor for my m20b29 I am going to build.

          Plans thus far are:

          m52 crank
          Eagle 135mm Hbeam Rods
          Overbore block +1mm
85 mm custom 8.5:1 forged pistons (for boost)
          race coated bearings
          arp everwhere
thinking about a 885 Port n Polished head from Mystery if its within the budget.
          HD Rockers
Continue to use my MAF/WAR Chip until I decide if I wanna go MS, most likely will.
I'm sure I am forgetting stuff but I know exactly what Im getting and hopefully it turns out well. have a couple things to figure out still like cam/piston specs.

Will be replacing almost everything that hasn't been replaced already.

I've ordered a new ICV, Lemforder Rear Subframe Bushings, RTABs, Front subframe reinforcements, front & rear sway bar reinforcements, a m52 crank, fixed my air leak I think.

My front hub started humming so I stopped driving it because I have been using my s10 to get around until the new bearing came in. As I changed the new wheel hub,

          I noticed something Bad!

          Damn subframe!!

So Now my cars really down until I pull the subframes from the parts car. Front will be reinforced, and the rear will receive camber and toe adjusters from e30tech.

When thats all finished my suspension will be like 100% new.

Debating on doing an e46 rack swap also for more gokart like steering. because its so cheap.

cleaned this up in case i choose to use an adapter instead of a manifold

and something I thought was funny, my full droop is still lower than most e30s up front :)

Waiting for a bunch of goods in the mail. I'll update when they show up.

Started school, and been snowboarding in tahoe, so I've been busy.

Wait, what happened to the smoke test? Did you ever get the cold idle issue squared away??

Jesus that's a spectacular subframe failure.

I did smoke test. I had 3 leaks. Atleast thats what they pointed out to me. basically it was leaking out of both rubber rocker shaft plugs in between the fire wall and the back of the head right under the valve cover.

I also somehow pinched a piece of dirt in my gasket that didnt seal and had a small leak on the VC gasket, so new rocker shaft plugs, and valve cover gasket helped out a lot!

But then I bought a new ICV, and that really fixed my issues.

Although, my engines not idling perfect, Its much better, but i still feel I either have a ECU problem, or a small air leak somewhere else haha.

It could also be tuning now, because my car got tuned with the air leak....therefor it'd be rich right now i'd imagine.

May go back, but I dont wanna spend money on the 327i when I wanna build up this forged 2.9L M20.

Thanks. I caught the e30 bug badly. When my car is "finished" I'll prob be close to 20k into it haha...but it will be a brand new 1988 :)

I hear you, man. I'm about to buy my 4th E30. One was donated to our Chump cr team, I've got an `87 Alpineweiss coupe that I've gutted to turn her into a SE30 racer, then there's my current DD/track car. Once I have the 4th (super-clean, M50-swapped Burtundrot early oupe w/ Euro bumps), that will be my new DD, and my current ride goes into the garage for a COMPLETE ground-up restoration. Then I, too, willhave a 'new' `88! This is a sickness...

Agreed, I can't wait till I get back in my e30. Good news, saturday i sold more parts on the parts car, also disconnected everything on the engine to the car, so the whole front and rear suspension will be dropped next weekend hopefully. Leaving the stripped shell for pick n pull.

Received my reinforcement plates for the subframe and also got front and rear sway bar reinforcements as well. Will get pics soon.

Yup! SuperEta= the best e30 imo. you get best of both worlds. you can CHOOSE what car you want. Slow economy vehicle with style(e), or fast go-kart (327i), can either be 80's retro with old big bumpers. or like a newer vehicle with plastics.

I'm so happy I got an 88. except my engine will be pulled exactly how it is I think, my dad is pushing me to save the 300k mile engine as a complete as a spare for smog cuz i dont think my m20b29 turbo will pass. ahha.

When I bought it I just thought well its better than regular eta with some goodies like ellipsoids, late model valence, and shorter aluminum bumpers oh and 6k redline. I dug around the forums everyone said that its the perfect starting plat form and I can see why easy stroker, easy plastic bumper conversion you name it. Im grateful that I got a supereta as not only my first e30 but as my first car as well.
