That keychain looks sick! Could you do an e30? Late model plastic bumper, IS lip and camber? :rofl

Congrats on the pending Tesla job! Sounds awesome! What kind of degree do you have/getting?

So at school my friend showed me how we could use a laser printer at our disposal. So I decided to make a keychain for my 2002 and found a cool piece of plastic there so decided to make a coaster as well.

My friend printed some awesome art on some plywood for his girlfriend. it looked amazing cuz he did several passes which gave the picture depth. the laser etches the wood quite deep at higher powers.

How much would you guys pay for a pic of your choice on a keychain like this? I could do this as a side gig...thinking $10-15 shipped?

So I got my block and rotating assembly back from the machine shop. APM Custom Engine, Felix did a great job, RA looks amazing. He balanced the pistons, rods, to .5 gram of each other, lightened/surfaced a single mass flywheel, polished crank, bored, honed, and decked the block and made everything look brand new pretty much.

    Its Build Time!

He got the flywheel down to 16.1 lbs. He only shaved the outer backside.

Also. FYI, a m52 crank weighs 45.8 lbs

Thats all for now. Ill post some more after i install fog deletes and paint the block.

Also pretty excited that I might have a hook up with a job at Tesla for R&D, so super excited about that. Fresh outta (not even yet, graduate in May) college first job at Tesla? I like how that sounds.

Wired up my city lights finally. Been lagging like crazy.

Got em wired up to the sidemarkers.
    Also washed both cars ;)

Also got a new iS lip, gonna be ordering some fog light deletes and new hardware to hold all the valance stuff in because I straightened back out my valance from the Auto X incident

Got some Corrado g60 rotors for the rx7 bbk. Gonna get them bored on the lathe at work.

I just need to order new pads (rx7 fronts/e30 rears). I'm torn, I dont want a noisy pad, but Im greedy for max braking. I kinda want the porterfield r4s's but hear they're noisy.
So thinking of going with Axxis Ultimates since theyre cheap and seem to have good reviews.

I need some good brakes for that i've had the brakes smoking before from driving canyons downhill. But I daily my e30 too, so don't wanna hear me squealing up to stop lights....thats just embarrassing.

From a nice curvy road that dead-ended on me. Was very smooth, which allowed me to go fast :)

Didn't see one headlight either, no one out there. No houses.

My friend (previous owner), told me the 02 hasnt been washed for atleast 3-4 years sitting under a cover.

    I believe him :)

Haha, thanks for the concerns, it does suck, and it sucks to think our fellow BMW guys are stealing from each other. I'll buy another from Steve when I get paid, along with Rotors for the rx7 BBK. Anyone got PAD recommendations? I hear HPS aren't the best, I'm reading Axxis ULT's are pretty good for street/auto x. Is that true? I dont mind dust, but dont want my brakes squealing daily.

The e30 will now either be strictly DD or sold, can't bring myself to selling it yet though,

The 2002 is now in my name as of this morning at the DMV, Guh! Only 24$ for the transfer.

Here are some pics the previous owner took.

As you can see, I got a lot ahead of me. But I'm confident I can succeed. I have a vision of a low functional turbo flared red boosted 02 with at least 225's.

Decided to put a bandaid over my paint crack because while washing it once i made the crack worse.

Here's an attempt at a roller shot while chasing my dad down in the camaro. LOL @ how it looks like its sitting still.

I love the perks that come with working at a shop...

Free media blasting and corner balancing!!!!

    For the 2.9T.

    UP SHE GOES!

    And on the scales.

Corner balancing is annoying, I got fed up after getting it to 49.4/50.6. So I stopped.

But I'm still as low as I was so I am happy.

That weight is with about 100 lbs of sub/amp + spare and 1/2 tank of gas (16 gallon tank)

Shows how light our cars really can get.

Also, should I start a thread on here of the 02 project?

I'll check out price of aluminum sheet big enough for that. The abs is pretty inexpensive.

I don't plan to make skid plates. Just want a more functional splitter.

My plan is to make a 2 piece splitter. Something very similar to Ryan G's for up front (sorry Ryan, your splitter looks so good), but I plan to make it two pieces and adjustable. Not knocking Ryan's splitter cuz I loved it. But it doesnt go back and cover the engine compartment. Mine will have a second piece that attaches to the front lip (in case you rip your front iS lip off and easier removal). It will go back to the control arms and will have an opening for a skid plate.

If theres serious interest in something like this, I can make different varieties, but for now its gonna be for 88+ iS spoilers.

I don't know too much about aero, but I know a function splitter is supposed to go back at least 2-3 ft under the car. I know we don't have diffusers or full underbody panels, but this would be a cool thing to have I think.

I plan to make the stuff out of ABS plastic and possibly make a mold for carbon fiber or fiberglass splitters. The second piece would always be ABS plastic because it can't be seen and would be unnecessarily expensive.

So thats a side project I'm working on with a buddy, may even make one for 1st Gen Camaros as well because we both have 67's :)

I'll keep you guys updated, so far we've only gone and priced out/chose materials.
What about an aluminum underbody panel/splitter that incorporates a skid plate in?

I'd imagine since you use the e34 pan right? That the shape is different and would have to make a couple different versions for different cars. For the first one it will be with my m20 and the raceskids skid plate because thats what i have for measurements/fitment.

If my splitter is successful and I can make for others, I'd have to get some measurements from someone.

But there hasn't been any progress because of finals. My last one is Tuesday.
