Hey guys I was having some running issues in my e30.

I ohm tested the coolant temp switch and it was out of spec.
    That was replaced

    The problem continued
The crank position sensor was out of spec also so that was replaced

Problem continued and the ignition coil was out of spec. I borrowed one from a friends shop and what do you know fixed!

It had a code 1222 and code 1261
I did a smoke test and it had minimal vaccum leaks.

My friend Tyler apex goblin helping me smoke test. It really is a 2 person job.

Problem 100% was a bad ignition coil and the one on the car was approximately 5 years old.

I have a new set of plugs to install soon too.

    some garage updates

I cutoff of the prebuilt shelf off the wall and lowered it to work bench height.
i also added a pegboard wall.
I borrowed my wife's car and it barely fit.

I have gotten some filing cabinets for free.
great for storing car parts, cleaning supplies, and paint cans.
    but it doesnt match.

I took the drawers out, removed the handles, and the lock tumbler.

I'm going for a craftsman look. gloss red exterior black drawers silver handles

    first file cabinet done.

started working on the other ones.

    couldnt get the drawer out.
so i just masked everything to paint it black.

    all done.
im happy with the results so I will do the engine stand next.

hey guys got the clutch hydraulics replaced

    clutch master and hardline

    clutch slave with UUC hardline

bleeding the clutch by your self sucks but can be done.

    dropped the exhaust,
and got better pictures of the inner lap belt mount clearance to the center support bearing

    new shop dog!

    bought an awesome cool tool
    harbor freight transmission jack

have to get creative when trying to undue the starter nuts
clamped the tool to the master

so everyone complains about the top trans bolt

i placed a floor jack under the front subframe and removed the subframe bolts.
inserted head bolts and lowered the entire front drive-train as one unit a few inches
this allows adequate room to access the top bolts.
getting ready to drop the front end

    last bolt

was able to separate it. woot

    old parts

    trans jack coming in handy

pressure plate and clutch disc removed

made a custom tool to remove the flywheel bolts

i rented a tool from my local pepboys
slide hammer and pilot bearing puller
it was way to big to fit inside of the bearing
i found a rod to fit inside to keep the jaw from popping out and it worked

    tool configuration

new flywheel ready to go on.

    new pilot bearing installed
    new flywheel going on.
    locking tool in place

    clutch disc installed
thanks to mike for letting me borrow the clutch alignment tool.(buttjuice)

    pressure plate installed

    plastic pivot pin was broken

bell housing cleaned up and brass pivot pin installed
old flywheel weight 20 lbs new flywheel 7 lbs.
    winning

    engine and transmission mounts are
condor speed shop UHMW solid delrin mounts
it vibrates a lot and is loud.
lots of squeaks and rattles because of this too.

So my Akg shifter arrived Monday.
I immediately installed it after work.

Everything fit nicely it shifts great
Upshifts and down shifts part throttle and full throttle are just so easy.

Also pretty awesome how often you seem to get shit for free or whatever. Sounds like a great setup.

    Thanks for reading.
