    I have noticed in numerous threads people post pics of bondo over paint. Is it not common place for you US based guys to strip the area being filled back to bare metal?

    That bondos going to crack. You should of used some kitty hair first. Then used a filler that flexes.
    I give it a month max.

    Exactly. Necessary? No. Good idea? Yes. I kept mine in my swap, last thing I want to do is be freaking out over the temp needle pegging and then suddenly be scalded with 250* water and 3rd degree burns all over my legs while simultaneously loosing control, hitting a tree and totaling my car.

    but, I digress...
