      Thanks!

Well the car runs, had two coolant leaks (one hose burst and then other needed the clamp tightened), had a small oil leak by the top timing case cover and valve cover. All that has been buttoned up. Got rid of the ac system and cruise control, thinking about power steering delete but we'll see.

Moved the car out on its own power

Need euro grills and might go back to a chrome kidney grills,

Second set of smileys came in, these had the wires for the headlights on them so I can finally wire them up.

This was just some of the clean up crew used on this engine bay clean up (Close to like 15 cans of brake cleaner).

A little diy on the turn signal covers

Very nice! I like m42 and your attention to details. Keep up with great work!

I personally do not have patience for all little things, especially cleaning things.
I'm surprised to see a fenced yard.

Thanks, I'm real surprised that I actually had the amount of patience I had to do this project. Usually I want to get things done and move on, something about this project that had me thinking, either do it right or don't do it at all.
Lol, the fence was put up because we had people just cut across our yard, pick our flowers and even had a lady stand under my porch cause it was raining...kinda creepy.

Great job restoring it. Can't wait to see it finished.

              Thanks.

Headlights are wired up, got a few things back on. Decided to play around with the camera.

So is it running alright? It's way too pretty to sit at home all day.

Thanks, yep it's running, I'm getting the battery light on the dash so I'm guessing its either the alternator ground or the alternator is bad. Haven't had time to check. Either this week or next the car will get it's plates so hopefully it'll be on the road soon. Still gotta go something about the wheels as the tires are on the car are like 6+ years old and showing signs of age.

I used some off the shelf generic white Dupli Color paint. Didn't really care on the shade of white which is less "creamier" than alpine white, bay will probably get painted in the future when its time for a swap.

looked like it came out pretty well, think i may just go ahead and do the same as you did on the outside pieces. my bay is empty and i believe im going to do that in bed liner, more rugged and if you get micro texture it looks like the the textured valve covers and such. that white looks tempting too though. just couldn't imagine it lasting too long in there. anyway project looks great!

Just make sure bed liner is what you, I can't imagine having to get rid of that stuff once its on. I'll eventually get my bay done in alpine white once the motor gets swapped.

So these came in today, super excited but not before customs raped me on the import fees. These adapters went well over my intended budget thanks to canadian customs, should of just shipped it to buddy's place in the states. O well, just a warning to fellow canadians who decide to go this route watch out for customs. Enough complaining on that, the product looks well designed.

A little tricky getting things to align,

And the wheels....they're more than one piece :D

Hi Tuee, this looks awesome. I might have missed it somewhere, but how did you go about painting the engine bay? It looks like your brake lines etc are in place--did you remove all of that stuff and spray using a gun? Or did you use Duplicolor or other rattle can and somehow paint around everything that wasn't easily removable? Or some other technique?

Hey, thanks. I pretty much removed everything that I could. As for the abs pump and brake lines, I unbolted it from the car and moved it over a few inches. This gave me enough room to spray behind and under it. The fuse box I didn't remove, I tried to get as much paint coverage around it. So if you look closely you can see where I missed. The main purpose of the paint was to cover any of the rust repairs. I'll be painting the bay sometime in the future when the engine comes out. I pretty much rattle canned the whole thing. Very light coats was the key here, went primer, color and then clear. Hope this helps. Oh ya anything that couldn't be removed was covered in plastic to prevent any overspray.

Very cool. I may give this a shot myself as I don't plan to remove my engine anytime soon (only 155k miles) but would like to neaten up the appearance underhood a bit. I found the Duplicolor Dover/Arctic White BGM0138 to be a pretty decent match to Alpine White II. What paint did you use, Duplicolor or one of those color-match-in-a-spray can special order paints?
