wow what a typical hoover-cluster f**k!!!! Glad it was simple and not something retarded complex! I love that car, it is so much tighter feeling than mine handling wise. I need more race suspension pieces for mine and like a cage/seats/harnesses/remove interior etc......

and if you plan on building another V8, we should just go all out and do a nasty M5 engine build from like a E39!!!

          Update?
          This thiing is great!
I do have one question though, did you run 5/8ths on all master cylinders?
Also where did you order them from for $75?

Haven't been on here lately. Nothing has changed as far as the car goes since I finished it. I've driven it *maybe* 5 times since September. I have been hesitant to drive it in any weather but sunny and warmer than 50 degrees. It has a tendency to go sideways in the cold with the 215's on there lol.

I got the brake stuff from Summit, still running 5/8th front and rear with the bias toward the front. I am running half E36 M3 half 318ti until I can find decently priced Z3M stuff.

Has the pedal effort increased with the manual brakes?

Did the pedal travel increase compared to stock?

Pedal effort isn't far off from stock. The pedal placement is ideal as well. The pedal travel depends on what size masters you are using. A larger bore yeilds shorter travel but increased effort and brake feel. A smaller bore yeilds longer pedal travel but decreased effort and a "spongier" feel. I am satisfied at the moment but I have been toying with the idea of swapping back to 4 lug and using a massive kit front and rear. It will allow a proper front/ rear bias with massive's rear kit as opposed to the 318ti stuff I am running in the rear. Also its balls cold in VA right now and I haven't driven the stupid garage queen in a few months.

I've had a severe case of car ADD lately. I pulled apart my quantum syncro only to find a massive amount of rust in the rockers. Ill save that car one day.

So I kicked it out of the garage when I found a pretty clean 88 IX coupe for sale.

Not sure what to do with the IX yet. I probably drive it around town until spring then tear into it and assess what it needs. Has some rust, but haven't all IX's lived a hard life? I need it to snow so I can chain the syncro up to the IX and see who was the real AWD champ in the late 80's. I've got money on the ole VW.

Put some wheel spacers on the front of the silver car. Yawn. Haven't been able to drive it for weeks because of all the salt on the roads. Driving me insane.

                            dirty30,

I have run my car a few times now and have found the brakes aren't very strong.
Almost like I couldnt make a panic stop. How have yours been?
I figured I could almost lock them up but no such luck, even with the bias cranked to the fronts.
                            any insight?

Mine have felt fine, I am holding off doing any further fine tuning until I decide what to do as far as the brakes go. I want to get a more balanced set-up whether it be Z3M rear to match my E36 M3 front stuff or go back to 4lug and get Massive's kits in the front and rear.

Is your pedal extremely firm with little to no feedback when braking hard?

                              EDIT:

Here is a chart I was using initially when I was having problems with bias, it is a spreadsheet that you can use to input your vehicles info and it basically spits out a front and rear master size when you have entered everything in...

Frustrating chain of events always lead me back to you guys with results that usually have me scratching my head saying "why didn’t I think of that".

its a few posts in under "bremsbalancekalculations" or something like that

Ya my pedal is very firm
                                Maybe an inch of movement
No feedback when I'm standing on it.

I am going to take the calipers off and make sure they are not seized or something stupid like that.
Basically looking for an excuse to go with a couple bbks lol
