      Huh?

Just got a few more things done. Matt-B was right, should have hooked the new stainless clutch line to the slave before dropping the motor in, not to the body. Just had to pull the slave off and attach the fitting, then bolt the slave back up. Also got all of the fuel lines ran, and now I'm working on the throttle cable linkage.

The red valve cover looks great! Are you going to leave the plastic covers off? Do you plan to use the e30m3 wiring harness cover? It really finishes things off nicely and would look great in that bay. Keep up the good work.

Mine in 6 inches from in, does the stud go on the outside for motor mount?

Tons more progress made today, the engine is completely wired.

Getting started. Andrew completely tore apart Greg's "adapter" and rewired everything directly, no more adapter:

              Finished C101 connector:

ECU connector and the rest of the harness wouldn't fit through the hole, so we sawzalled the fucker, and made the hole fit the rubber boot for the E34 harness:

All connections finished at battery terminal block:

Finished wiring harness, ready for M3 firewall covers:

I do still have a few questions, tho. I can't figure out/remember what the 3 things pointed to by the yellow arrows are for/connect to. At the top, what do those 2 connectors inside the rubber boots go to, in the middle, what do those 2 small connectors go to, and at the bottom, what do those 2 wires go to?

Sorry it went that way for you with Greg. To his "credit", he was in the process of trying to move when I last was on speaking terms with him. I figured he was bagging out completely when his avatar and most everything else disappeared from his r3v name.

Good call on just hard wiring it, honestly. You're not going back to ETA... I can already tell ;)

Not yet, there are still no fluids or anything in it. I'm waiting on the power steering reservoir bracket, then I have to shorten those lines, get them hooked up, and we should be able to fire it.

Just out of curiosity....what was/is the purpose for the fuse box being mounted on the strut tower??? Is that an ETA thing or something you decided to do?

. . .and all was as it should be. :D

I'm sending this thing your way in the morning, bolts and all. Cleaned up pretty nice considering how covered in oil it was.

It's always been like that, it's kinda strange. Must be an early model thing, my car is an 01/86.
