Thanks! Without all the build threads on here I don't think I would have gotten this far. There seem to lots of great refresh/rebuild project threads going on right now. I love reading how everyone approaches the same issues a little differently.

So I have moar pics for you. I spent half the weekend doing some long needed cleaning / organizing in the garage mostly so I could have the room to work on interior stuff. Inside the car I hit some the surface rust on floorboards with some Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. I also dyed the carpet and the parcel shelf with Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric paint which really came out great. It took less than 3 cans to get the job done and it really looks like brand new black carpet.

Here is the carpet after, it's jet black in person. I have a before pic earlier in this thread.

Here is the parcel shelf before, stripped of the speakers and vents.

Here it is after, it also looks brand new and jet black.

The dye looks great! I hope it lasts for you. I need to do the same with mine. Thanks for the encouragement! Your car is coming along nicely.

I have been making a little progress. I have been working on some interior parts. I picked up a rough but crack-free dashborad last fall that I rehab'd with some dye. Here is the before:

Here is after two light coats of dye:

The dye looks so good I decided to use it on my b pillar trim and part of the center console that I had laying around.

Here is the parcel shelf reassembled:

I'm kinda waiting on a headliner before I can start re-installing interior. This weekend I may attempt the oh so fun dash swap. I also have been running wires for the stereo and wiring up things like the keyless entry and cruise control.

Did your car not have cruise control when you bought it? I was wondering how difficult it was to put cruise on a car that didn't come with it.

I did not have cruise control when I bought the car but I have almost all the parts to install it. I'm still tracking down a clutch switch and bracket. It doesnt seem terribly hard to retrofit. I am using the following how-to article as a guide:

I didn't know that blue was a rare or desirable interior color. I have 4 blue door cards, 2 blue front comfort seats and a rear with ski pass and headrests. If someone wants to trade for black door cards and rear seat (for a sedan) in equal condition I'd be all for it. Otherwise in about a week or so it will all be dyed black. I find the blue to be hideous personally.

I recently retro'd cruise into my 87 eta and it was one of the best things I have done to the car so far. You will enjoy and notice it every time you use it.

Listen to this guy. If you want a black interior, sell the blue and buy black and still have cash left over.
