blue timing belt=pain to install. OEM for now, just got to hope it all works normal and its good for bimmerfest, new splitter material looks great, just need to cut and design some new brackets.

That was fast. Nice work! New coolant tank is a nice touch too.

Finally finished, it came out a lot better than before so it wasnt a total waste of time.

one thin I noticed is that the difference in stud length is pretty significant. my old studs actually hit the valve cover in a spot and require me to dremel the vc a bit to fit. the new studs are perfect.

My old studs were from nomade30 on E30tech not sure why they were so different. Also the new ARP kit came with washers which are much larger O.D than the stock ones which is nice.
          difference in size

          thread length difference

but its all pretty and scrubbed with a tooth brush.

So are the blue Gates belts hard to get on the sprocket?

If that's the case, then the adjustable timing gear plus blue belt will be even worse. Adjustable gears and stock belt is a tight fit already. Curious to see how those pan out.

We've installed one on a customer's engine and had no issues.

Couple more being installed in the next few days.

it was with an adjustable cam gear so maybe that was the reason it was such a tight fit.Its not actually hard, just compared to how easy a contitech installs I didnt want to deal with again.

those are the CF covers I used to make and sell but no one was interested so I stopped.
Also put some miles on the E30 without issue today so looks like the bimmerfest trip is good to go.

Your car is a true inspiration. I'll be at Cars and Coffee tomorrow and at LVMS and hope to see your car. Good luck with the drive down and let me know if you need anything once you get down here i.e. tools, garage, a place to crash.
