I'm not sure if you're willing to share the amount of $ you've put into it already, but I'd imagine even after the necessary repairs, you're still sitting pretty good. Cool car you've got there and I'm glad you put in the work to properly save it!

Including the price of the car I'm into it a little over $10k. Like you said, not too bad at all.
Here is what I brought home last night:
Picked them up for $1k for the pair. Not too bad.....
Anyway.... This weekend will be spent cleaning, cleaning, cleaning!!!!
I will post pictures after I'm done. Hopefully there will be a pretty big difference....Comment

Whew! What a long weekend spent with the car!!
No joke, I spent 11 or 12 hours this weekend just cleaning and trying to get the car to look more presentable. The paint and bodywork is too far gone to just buff it back to showroom condition but I knew from the day I bought it that it did not have to look as bad as it did. I still have a lot of work ahead of me but I did get a lot accomplished this weekend.
This is after washing, compounding the roof, rear bumper and driver side skirt (just one pass mind you), Painted wheels, cleaned engine, removed stereo speakers (only one worked), and scrubbing, scrubbing, scrubbing.....
A little reminder from the day I picked it up:
And this is how she looks as of this morning:
I hammered out that dent in the right front fender a little. It's still there but does not look as bad as it did.
There is some shine left after all!!
So that's the progress so far. Next weekend I will work on the front bumper and interior and probably give the roof, bumper and side skirt another pass with the compound.
At least after all this it will look like it is supposed to be a track/auto-x car and not just a really beat up M3!!!!
Thanks again for looking....Comment

Definitely an improvement! I'd find some decently matching spray paint and hit the front bumper personally.Comment

Did you sand/prime/sand/paint the wheels? or did you just shoot them?"I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

Oh, and I LOVE the Recaro Pole Positions! That's what I have going into my track car. I originally had Recaro sidemounts on Wedge Engineering brackets, but the seats sat too high for me to fit in the car with a helmet...and I'm only 5'9"!
I've switched to the MASSIVE sidemounts that bolt onto stock E30 brackets, and I LOVE `em!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys! It's much appreciated!!
I'm just going to patch and paint the bumper for now since I will be using the car for track/auto X duties. I will get a new bumper later on down the road....
Kingston, what brackets did you end up using that fit the stock locations?
Yesterday the Euro Smilies I purchased from euro3 came in and I couldn't wait to install them so I spent a few hours on the car last night.
Here are the results:
