making room for the new turbo... cut some useless brakets.. push my EPS further to make room for air filter

I just put a used filter temp on the pipe at the other end so no debrie would go in..but that pipe is going to connect to the turbo.

      shot of the intercooler

another shot so you can see that the filter now hits the manifold... anybody have a spare filter adapter I can buy from?

and just a quick shot of the turbo (still needs to be turned the correct way for the oil feed/drain and air outlet

      more to come...

I've been following your build - but have not commented for fear of proving myself retarded.

This. Is. Sick. Can't wait to see it all up and running.

can't you use the stock filter adapter? Or do you need it for your oil feed?

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

I lost the one that came with the engine :( but I would so need one right now... the kit comes with a clever sandwich adapter that provides for the oil inlet to turbo...but unless I have the stock oil filter adapter that does a 90 degree bend so my oil filter sits behind the manifold am SOL right now...:(

substitute pressurized air for electrons, and then think about this as a metaphor for series or parallel circuits- can be done either way.

              twin-turbo rx7 is a common example, like you're thinking of; that's "parallel".

lancia delta s4 is "series"- turbo's compressor outlet pipes to blower inlet.

Just use a smaller filter off an m42 I think? I had one for awhile, no problems.

Could also tee your turbo oil inlet off the stock oil pressure sender outlet.

I wound up running a trans dapt relocation kit to a Ford temp controlled sandwich plate to an oil cooler and a wix 51515 filter

                  well put!

In my case I am doing the exact same thing as (lancia delta s4 is "series"- turbo's compressor outlet pipes to blower inlet.)

ok thanks! I just remembered the oild filter I removed and didnt fit was an even smaller filter then stock (because it didnt fit the headers) and its from a 80's V6 toyota Camry. So I would have to compare the size of the S14 to the one I have but unless its really shorter with the sandwich adapter it wont fit.. :(

intuitively, that way makes the least sense to me, but it seems to be the way that makes power. maybe you'll teach us why :)

Yeah I did a lot of research and at first I tough the VW TSI engine model was the way to go SC feeding the turbo inlet...BUT then I saw the Lancia S4 :) read the theory around it and the new hellion ford mustang twincharge systems and it all made sense to go this way and this way you dont loose any of the 2 power adders strong points with the added bonus of the SC making 1 extra Liter of exhaust gas to spool the turbo even faster.

Cant wait to see the end results...

s14 filter is the same size as the small camry filter :( wont fit at all unfortunatly.

thanks for those who PM'd me with offers to sell me a filter adapter..I bought one from member "e30euro" should have it soon.

I will wait to install it before installing exhaust manifold...so I will attack other parts of the build until it arrives... Exhaust system, turbo air pipes...
