With the shock tower brace in place it's pretty much impossible to run an air box with this set-up.

If I can do something like I mentioned in my first post...

Then I would be able to make an air box, or run some proper air filters.

I got a 37mm spacer made for brake booster and extended booster to pedal clevis by same amount, runner # 6 now lives between 5th and 6th cylinder.

Runners from this m20 Airbox would not clear as it meant for booster-less systems, guttered it, adjusted runners, shortened mating ends and rubber boot connector.

this guy has what we need ;)

No drama, I've just been driving the car.

I just got home from an HPDE weekend at Mosport. The car ran without any issues all weekend, about 450km on track total. Unfortunately no GoPro.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Factory everything except for the 19lb injectors and megasquirt.

Book to hear. I picked up MS2/extra from whodwho for my 3.1 stroker. I have stock injectors and motronic 1.3 now but plan to drop in my 24 pounders and the ms2 soon. I may need some help getting the tuning down.

Awesome to see your ITBs working. You started this project like a month before I got my ix and it was one of the first threads I followed, a lot of inspiration for my own projects. Great work!

                      Cheers.

I never did get to the dyno this year... and I don't see it happening in the few weeks I have left before the car goes away. Next year... :)

Can't complain about the car though, I ran it hard for 4 lapping days this year with the ITBs and for the most part it ran beautifully. I had an instructor who built and races an E30 chump car, and has an E36 M3 track car, and he really liked the way the motor felt... if that counts for anything lol.

I'm thinking about making a plenum. I'll probably get the base part 3D printed. If the top part could be printed as well I might do that, or I'll just make a foam core and make a fibreglass shell from it. Here's my initial thoughts on the design, geometry isn't finalized, but space is limited in the engine bay so it's not too far off:

                        Base....

                        Plenum...

Why two intakes vs one big one? Or is there some packaging issue that makes two easier?

My TBs are 2 sets of 3. I feel that it might be a bit of a pain trying to get everything to match up the way I'd want it to with one large plenum. Also it's easier to 3D print the smaller 3 port base than a large 6 port base.

Like I said, it's an initial design concept, I still have to stew on it for a while.

Fiberglass on a foam core is probably your best bet. Make it a single plenum - the throttles are synced so it doesn't matter that they are in two groups of three. If you make a split plenum like that you can miss out on beneficial harmonic tuning of the intake system.

are you sure you have enough clearance to the booster? even if you angle everything upward to clear the booster then runner 1 and 2 comes close to the hood so you need to curve the front runners downwards (or atleast the plenum portion).

at one point i was going to build 1 big air box with a internal divider and electronically actuated flap to try and see if i could tune it to boost a certain part of the torque curve. they do say to have a proper Helmholtz setup you need to have a maximum of 3 cylinders per plenum.

might want something like this to allow a single filter
