Running a bottom mount turbo in this engine bay ended up becoming more of a task than I had anticipated. With the turbo mounting so low I ended up with major oil drain back problems. This relay setup here runs the Turbowerks scavenge pump for 3 minutes after the car is shut off. Adding this to the factory relay box was a bit time consuming but it turned out clean in the end. The second photo here is a 95% finished engine bay.

Specs on engine as of now:

Journal bearing GT28 Oil and water cooled
    OEM volvo intercooler (2008-2010) XC90
    Turbowerkks EXA oil scavenge pump
    Bosch Green Giant fuel inectors
OEM fuel rail with factory FPR block off plate
Turbo Smart FPR 6 adjustable FPR
ClutchMasters FX350 clutch with lightweight flywheel
    ARP headstuds (Stock headgasket)
    2.5 intercooler piping
SPAL slimmy fan with e36 M3 aluminum shroud modified to fit correctly
Knockoff BOV I had laying around
2.5 single exhaust downpipe into factory resonator and muffler (changes here possible later but I want the car quite)
Somewhat decent external wastegate (ebay) We will see how this plays out...
    Mechanical boost control
    Linkg4x ECU
    AEM wideband
    255lph fuel pump

    More to come.

Moving foward with the build here is a photo dump of some things that have happened in the last few months. Car is now running on link G4X standalone. We are still on jackstands in the garage but as soon as the diff is built and finished we can go back together and start some more tuning.

Cold side housing clearing the steering arm was a bit of an issue to start. Sorted now with some slight mods LOL

We are going externally gated on this one. Mainly because with the bottom mount set up there is simply no room for an internal waste gate on the turbo.
    Pie cuts

And we end up with this:

Heres a résurrection of a thread as old as time. But my my what a winner. A lot changed here over the past 6-8 years. Things got a quiet. But here I am still building cars. Pic dump to come. Rules still apply

A crack cylinder head lead me this. This was a few months ago.(sorry photo will not position correctly. w/e

For anyone out there who cares a factory intercooler from a volvo XC 90 (2005) will slip right into the engine bay of the e34. No matter what you do there is no freaking way to get an intercooler into the lower bumper without hacking the car all to pieces. (not ideal)

In order for this to work you have to sack up and notch the chassis rails.

After some light fabrication work some flappy wheel and a little paint we have the final result.

Good buy. Safer than almost all shiny tin cans being sold at the dealership in the background.
I like how the millennials are buying into the idea that apple car play is going to protect them. This leaves more cars for us on the lot. Real cars.

Goddamn that's a good looking car. My Wagon came with the same coolant leak (back of the head). The fix is a v12.

    Much love.

St. George, huh? Tite. I hope houses down there don't get washed down the river again this year. Gonna be a heavy spring season for all those river-side houses.
