Aw that sucks. I was admiring this car a couple of weeks ago too. Heal up, hopefully another nice one is around the corner for you.

Dude, Been there, done that so I know how it feels since my former 74 2002 was rear ended and totaled on the 10 freeway in east LA county. Buy it back from the insurance company because it's now a parts car and 02 parts cars are hard to find these days. I sent you to Peter's shop in Wilmington a few months ago, he may know of a project car. Check with him after you get your insurance check. Start looking for ads to get a good value of your 02. I'm sure the insurance company will want to low ball you. Keep us posted on your battle with the insurance company and most important, get healthy.

I'm still unsure of the extent of underhood damage. I'm fairly certain everything from the timing cover and forward is destroyed. Pity, it was a great motor.
I shouldn't be out of bed, but I was. Drove the m3 to the police station to find my driver's license, but they don't know where it was. Drove to the tow yard where I suspected the car was to grab some personal stuff from the car. Bonus, I found my hat and sunglasses that flew off my head 50 feet from the scene. I found them in the ford focus. I also managed to save the new windshield rubber and that little plastic liner thing.
Looks like I'm building another one soon.
Seriously, let me know what parts you need. I got you...
Edit: I have a 75 shell if you want to transfer stuff? lmk

Ryan,
I feel your pain. My first 2002 (pictured) was totaled by an inattentive driver who plowed into the back of it and shortened it by about 2 feet. I had owned the car 7 years had many, many memories and experiences tied to it. It was the first car i really loved. Your crash has me re living that experience, I am so glad you are doing ok. Get well soon!
