O Fest had an unusually small turnout according to one of the regulars (maybe because it was on a Tuesday morning???) anyways there were some cool cars there all things considered.

      O Fest show pics:

I was a little confused by the whole thread, I assumed the show was over the weekend, and wasn't sure how you were going to make it haha. Tuesday?! Really? Weird. Good turnout, considering!

The whole show/ event schedule is very confusing. Apparently this is a week long event with things to do throughout the week but it seemed very loosely organized. Example: In order to get to the green where the show field was we had to drive about 1/2 a mile down the golf cart road during people's golf rounds!!!... we had one golf ball wizz by the car on the way in. With the main event being on a Tuesday morning there was virtually no spectator traffic, and only 16 (?) total concours cars. Unless you were 65+, retired and could endure an entire week in an off season ski resort I would have skipped this years O fest. My 2 cents on the show.

That's a beautiful setting for a car show, too bad it was poorly organized. Hope the trip home goes well!

This is an awesome thread! Really sorry to hear about Gary's passing but I'm sure that he was smiling down seeing his Roundie finally make it to a meet!

                Props!

Can't wait to see how it all comes together!

great venue, strange day to have a car show. I can see Thur - Sat, but whatever. Maybe they have so many people interested - they run it all week?

Car looks great! Congrats on a successful trip

                      Awesome work!

I recognize that grey E12 with the S38. Does Dave Stackhaus still own it?

Not sure, I chatted with a few people at the show but didn't speak with the owner of that e12. Probably my favorite car there, what a sleeper! Looks like it came from the factory like that.

Headed back to Virginia now, the truck gave all it had up Vail pass but we could only maintain about 40 mph. A turbo would have been nice for that grade!

Ana added to her footage for the time lapse go pro video of the trip also with a Colorado/ Kansas sunset. Should be pretty cool.

The 3600 mile trip to finish Gary's '72 Tii

Finally made it to the garage. Next step is disassembling the doors and taking them to get media blasted.

Going through my Dad's box of paperwork on the car today, I came across the old service records from the original owner. Apparently it had a complete restoration done in 1982 at Viktor Quality Auto Rebuilders In Chicago. To my surprise photos of the first restoration accompanied the paperwork.

This was my Dad's "To Do" list

That's so awesome! Crazy that the car required that much when it was only 10 years old.
