Haha I know right. It's plenty low now :D the front were spun almost all the way up.

I think that I'm going to trade my way to a new oilpan. It takes some time to get a used one.

Argh. after all that work.... -> Skid. Plate.
Totally don't get the slam/low thing on a boxy E30 but respect your taste nonetheless.

Just getting my 318is back to stock now after PO had it with IE race springs all around. Ride was absolutely gawd awful, rear camber was a mess. Car would violently oversteer in the wet. I totally get that the guy "hillbillied" his lowering job, and that you can have a perfectly aligned car low with an adjustable rear subframe (which I now have on the car). Just not my pref. H&R sport springs and stock front strut housings. done.
              I BUY/SELL REFURBISHED CM5907s & CM5908s

Like I've mentioned the oil pan gasket was pretty much nonexistent, I have so much oil on the bottom of the car it looks like someone put the car in a spray tan booth but used motor oil instead of tanner.

Yeah, I hear ya on that. I actually like the GC with Koni set up. I have very high spring rates (400 front/600 rear) but it rides much better then my HR sports with KYB's. More smooth. Surprisingly the car wasn't out of alignment after cutting the struts and re-welding. Rides straight.

There is nothing worse then when the PO does a shitty job at something as critical as the Suspension. I can respect a clean stock e30.

Been wondering about the Konis.. Seems like the knowledgeable E30 vets really
swear buy them. I went back to OEM Sachs for the front inserts on my e30 vert. The billie sports were just crazy harsh in a vert. I have new billie HDs on our IX coupe and that ride is crazy harsh too.

I'm running Billy sports and h&r sports and it rides great. I got Koni ground control on my other car as well haven't gotten the damn thing to run so I can't say if they ride good. I know it road good with konis in the rear. Yes that is one of the many reasons to lower your car haha. My 89 325is has the same problem with the oil pan gasket. It's pretty much non existent In just to lazy to rip the sub frame probably stay that way until I brake my pan lol.

They are high quality, that's for sure. What springs are on the IX?

Yeah, exactly. When I smashed my pan I didn't really even care because the gasket needed done anyway.

They are just so much work to do. Like fuck I don't wanna rip my suspension out and prop my motor up on a 4x4 to change the gasket. It's not a major leak either cause one I have no puddles and two you can barley see the oil until you get around the the back side of the pan by the tranny then it looks like it was spray taned with oil.

Love this calypso! I wish mine was as clean of a body as this, but the front valence I had before was this fucked too. Good start though, love the car!

Thanks! I appreciate it. I love the look of your Calypso.

I am looking through your flickr and noticed you resprayed/replaced and sprayed your front valance and lip. Do you have any details on the paint you used, and your process? I think I want to get all the coating off, and respray/replace my front valence, and respray the rear valance below the bumper. It's too much area for a can of touch up I think.

Seems it turned out well for ya.

Definitely get that. Done all my E30 oil pan gaskets though, usually when I go through the suspension.
