More likely someone just swapped covers, which would include the tag. Sorry :(

Nah, I purchased an e28 parts car a while back, it had this 'lsd' in it from the factory. The VIN said it had an LSD, the tag, and the 'S' were all there. That's why I think that the internals got pulled. I didn't check the diff too much because of the vin, tag, and S. Should have been more careful.

I discovered the most heartbreaking thing today. My LSD is not an LSD :( Someone swapped out the internals. I have just a open 3.25 that might not even be a 3.25.

MUCH IRRITATED. I wasted a metric ton of time on that diff.

It really depends on your price. I can get one fairly easily from Germany for less than US market value. So I'm not sure I'm the one you want buying it.
