Its my next car on my list of cars to get. I'd love to get a e46 M3, but I guess I should grow up and own a car with at least 4 doors for once, lol.

88 IXs in the US were all coupes, all loaded except for rear seat armrest/skibag
they cost as much or more than an M3.

88 IXs in Canada were all sedans. not sure about equipment level.

As far as i know mine has the full load? Heated seats, premium audio, electric windows/sunroof, 5spd.

Not sure whatever other boxes there were to tick? Not that any of it matters. The premium audio may as well be a tin can compared with current technology.

Do it. You wont be sorry. They have pretty much bottomed out in price. Only going up from here. And the DIY community around them is pretty good too. Last of the M cars that a guy can really wrench on without needing too much specialized computer doo-dads.

yes it makes sense that 88 Canadian IXes were fully loaded as well. Just wasn't sure. You can check out your original build config at bmwarchiv.de - just grab the last 7 digits of your VIN.

North American 89 and later IXes were slightly de-contented to drop the price a bit. Things like popout rear windows, sport seats and 13 button OBC were dropped from most of them.
