Wish we had a solid upholstery guy in the E30 world... but my naturinterior is rather clean. When the day comes it just may be perforated inserts or suede inserts even in tan.

    One step at a time.

Today I'm cleaning up parts. Starter was rusty. Cleaned it down and first coat is drying.

Fuel rail was rusty, too. Disassembled. Will clean it. Replace fuel hose that was like dried leather. If FPRS were not so pricey, I'd just do one for PM sake but will reuse old with a new seal. This will compliment all refurbished fuel injectors.

Yet to send out parts for Powder coat. Want a good idea of price before I commit. Local shop wanted 400+ for intake, valve cover and oil filter housing. I may do the OFH myself with paint.

A nice sized order placed at my local dealer.

Will clean up block of surface rust and paint silver.

Fellow member has helped me out with the PS pump and bracketry... seems I'll stick with OEM E30 rack. Hope not mistake!!

Peeking into head from intake side, everything was clean and shiny. Thinking this motor will do well and look the part, too.

Motor mounts, an OEM part, used in the 333i were confirmed and sourced thanks to Raul. They seem tall but are crossreferenced to the E12, E21 and E30 of all sorts in the Euro market.

Welder friend is good for the wiper linkage work, too. That is perfect as it involves bartering. I will drop it off tomorrow for his work to begin. The gist is: cut the arm along the where the key rests and add in 10mm, lengthening that side of the arm 10mm.

Once it returns, I will begin piecing the cowl together. I need a driver side cowl vent cover from a RHD. Any of my European r3vr's have one laying around? Think they are still easy to get via ECS.

Big bill at UPS to ship off items for powder coating by Dave at Renewed Finishes. I had no confidence in local outfits dealing especially with such a rare piece of the puzzle, the ACS M30 valve cover. There is no rush on the work. I have plenty of work to do.

A box of goodies from the dealer came in today. I came upon the need for another injector seal.. surely they had one on hand. Sure did.. $5! Need some fuel hhose and then I will rebuild the fuel rail.

I will need to take a break from the front and work at the rear end installing the rear mount battery kit.

I have an idea I can't shake, too. I think I will deconstruct the harness, trying to lay it out in a manner that hides the wires as best I can. Not tucked... I'm not going there.. but just clean up under the hood.

Linkage dropped off today for modifying.... glad to hand that over to someone more capable than I.

Still struggling with steering rack choice. I need to see how much refinishing costs.. if I have enough left in the kitty I will buy a remanufactured rack... e46 or e36.. I'll need to do my research. Also need to determine if I'm going to delete PS or not...

no PS with an M30 front end... oy.

I switched to an E36 rack on my vert... sooo much better - will never go back. the e36 m3 rack is slightly faster but even the basic one is terrific.

Is that the only mod needed to make it wipe the whole windshield?

That is the minimum modification necessary. It seems best advised to add a support tab near the LHD driver side, as some of these tuner cars had.

Here is some great work done by a fellow r3v'er:

I'm still waffling on the PS, rack combo. I need to do it before the motor goes in.

Cool I though it was more involved than that. I might bust out the mig welder and try it myself. Installing the linkage though.. Huge pain

For steering rack I would advise to go with e46 ZF rack with the purple tag. came in 325s and 328s. Same ratio as 330 zhp but with slightly more steering assist. Mine is about 2.9 turns LTL. I'm running the e36 110 bar PS pump.

Thats basically what the PO did to get mine to be a legit mono wiper. (not sure exactly the amount it was extended)

Im wondering if maybe since i have a euro car i could get my hands one one from BMW for you guys ?? I know blunt can get european parts with out jumping through hoops but you gotta pay a little more cause he buys from a guy in Europe and has it shipped to him not shipped from BMW like normal.

10mm of length added is the magic number.

                                And yes, part number is:
