Lira (euro DS mtech II 318is reshelled, 24v swapped, also now BAR'd)

    so it runs.











    and throws the same 1221 code as before :[

    additionally now it throws a 1222 code. I am suspecting the fuel tank vapor system.

        You didn't get a code for purge valve? I think it's 1263, won't trip a light but it'll be stored.

          this is embarassing, but, uh, don't forget the o-ring between the master cylinder and brake booster.

          there is still a evap system issue but i've worked around it for now and car should be BAR-able.

                we're in Belmont, and having an open house/car meet sometime in March. I'll post more info as it comes up.

                yesterday I took off the old/new exhaust, and started modifying things to get the unmodified E36 M3 downpipes on, to make absolutely sure that I would pass BAR.

                after a bunch of heating and hammering, they bolted up!





                to avoid pulling the manifolds to get swing clearance I had to use my patented Kronus Clearance-O-Matic Device:



                the downpipes do sit several inches lower than I'd like, but that's ok, they're not on here for long..



                I then borrowed a friend's E36 UUC Corsa exhaust and tossed it on. So, myth confirmed, a fully unmofied E36 exhaust can fit on an E30 24v swap!



                it, uh, sits goofy to clear the rear valence. It can be mounted straight, but the pipes don't exit where the Mtech valence hole is.




                then, I drove it to the referee station, sailed through the test and got my sticker. easy!
