    Bimmerthusiast's '91 318i Vert Build

So... I sold my e30 race car not too long ago for practicality reasons and got a Saab 9-3 Viggen. I love the car, but there's just something about driving an older car. I was in search for another older car...

Here's my new project! I know it doesn't look as aggressive as a coupe, but the feeling of driving top down is so enjoyable! This will be my cruiser that I can whip around corners and road trip with friends.

You may remember my other build thread of this car. I miss it dearly and I hope its still running strong!

The car has no rust and is in overall great condition.

The well kept interior really drawed me to this particular E30.

Missing fog cover, unecessary ///M badges, and some clear coat peeling on the hood.

This car definitely has some imperfections. Has some knicks i will touch up, it needs a good buff and wax, and needs much of the trim painted.

I'll keep you guys updated with the project!

Few things came in the mail and Got some suspension bits locally.

    Removed the wannabe badge.

    New shift knob :)

This uglyness was allen wrenched in.

    Straight up 90s.

    In with the new!

    Old vs New

Soooo much better than the long antenna that doesnt go all the way down.

Your car looks really nice, just need to "red-out" the other taillight to match!

Do you have the part number for that shift knob? I love it!

      Keep up the awesome work

Looks great! Details on that antenna setup would be helpful as I am trying to get something similar for my coupe

Thanks mate! Got the antenna from CaTuned. I just removed the old power antenna system and directly connected the antenna to the wire via soldering. It was maybe a 20 minute job.

                  Current lip situation.

Started pulling off the old lip. It came off very easily... Too easily.

                  Stock lip vs ebay lip

                  Removed all the tabs.

Thought I can do something with the stock holes.

Drilled the lip to match the holes on the underside of the valance.

Used a bunch of zip ties and it was super sturdy.

                  Lip is good to go.

Bilstein/H&R Sports installed in the front. Wasn't too bad.

Got some 18mm/20mm adapters. Thanks for the labels; made things easier :)

                    Mounted! Well engineered adapters.

Workin on the rears now. Keeping spring pads on the rear.

My two babies. Both were supposed to be stock...

                    Rears are installed!

Front M badge finally removed. No more rice!

                    Rear is perfect!

Front is about an inch too high. Any thought on how to lower it a bit more? May cut half a coil.

Clean vert! Looks like it has been well cared for.

My father had a Saab Viggen 5 door like yours except it was black. That was a fast car. He sold it a few months ago, had it for 4 years. Has yours been modified?

Looks great on those style 5s!

If those front springs have a dead coil that will drop you down a bit if you cut it.

Yeah it's got a bunch of bolt-ons to the engine and suspension. Thanks mate!

Sorry for not posting for forever guys. Here's a little update!

Did some vinyl work to clean up the look.

I think the car flows much better without the random chrome pieces.

Lots of masking in prep for detailing.

                            More masking..

                            And even more masking..

                            Weapon of choice.

Quick polish goes a long way!

                            Quick late night photoshoot!

                            Booty!

Love the feel of this steering wheel over the stock one.

Missing a few tools, but most of them are there!

                            Trunk game strong.

The rear is exactly where I want it.
