Last night got a "new" starter....from a M54 we had in storage.

          What a dick mission.

I then removed the upper manifold and replaced the PCV, hose, injector vacuum lines, and some baby vacuum lines. Cleaned the ICV. Thing runs great now.....BUT my main issue isn't solved yet.

After heavy engine braking, which I'm prone to do, coming up to a stop light/sign, I get to the stopping point, push in the clutch, and the damn thing will cut out. I can save it, but it misfires and smells like it's running lean. Have to hold it at like 1500rpm to keep it going. If I just coast it out of gear to the stop, it will stay running the entire time. Figured I had an air leak (and a smoke test revealed several) up under the intake mani. The PCV was gloriously bad. The hose from the PCV to the valve cover isn't great, but it's not leaking as per the smoke test...I have one to replace it coming in today.

          Otherwise the thing runs great.

A friend of mine is going to do the M54 swap into his wife's Ti that's currently M50....I think....swapped. That engine is getting tired.

In other news, I got new headlamps for mine. Depo, of course, but they're a glass lens and oh muhgawd it's nice to be able to see at night.

....and I've found my next car.

              That's all for now.

Did you opt for some HID's or LED? I have ZKW's in all my e36's and even with just HID's it made a huge difference from the crappy stock plastic US lights. I smashed a set just for giggles and then went duh, have since kept them for the dreaded race car for aerodynamics.

They're ZKW style, I guess? I just wanted the glass lenses. Uses H1 bulbs...I didn't put HID or anything in it. This is such a vast improvement over those shitty stock lamps. I may got for Silverstars later, but for now I'm very happy.

Ive seriously looked into getting one of these. I found a 97 with a California top. Its auto, but I plan to leave it with the crappy motor and auto until later when I would swap in the Aluminum M52...

They are a BLAST. They handle so well, I'm surprised. So ugly though.

I've never even heard of the California top, that's pretty cool actually.

Stupid question ( I think ) When it comes to wheels, are yo looking for E36 offset (higher offsets...~30-40s) and NOT E30 M3 (low ~10-25) offset wheels? These things are so bizarre. What suspension do you need to get for these?

I think you want the e36 style.....but I honestly don't know. I'm going to slam some style 66s on this thing....they're e39 offset.....so we'll see. I had them on my e36 M3, so I know how they fit that car.

I was pleasantly surprised. They're pretty well made. I got them on Ebay, lol. I specifically wanted no angel eye bullshit. The light pattern is great, and these have the provision for the city lights. I've yet to really aim them, but OMG it's literally night and day vs the candles they installed at the factory.
