Day 5 has ground to a bit of a halt. Making slow progress installing the throttle linkage, this new overhead design is different than most of the others I've seen and I was having a tough time figuring it out. The diagrams show how the linkage goes together but not how the cable is set up. After a couple hours I did manage to get it working and pedal travel finally seems to be timed properly between closed and WOT.
Early pictures, arm position is not correct (upper arm is now at 2 o'clock and cable is taut):
Test fitted airbox with cable to check hood clearance. I'm not running any hood insulation and it still required some pounding on the inner hood bracing to clear the air box, but it does close. Once the hood is properly reinstalled I'll measure again and probably hammer it some more as there's only a couple millimeters right now.
Sadly I've ran out of time to complete it for now. I'm also still trying to decide if I even bother attempting to get the MAF/WAR combo working or just jump right to MS2PNP. Ideally I'd prefer to keep a MAF and ICV for driveability but it'll come down to syncing the throttles with a plenum (can you even idle the car with the Miller MAF unplugged? I never tried it...) and how reliable uploading/changing values with the WAR chip will be.Last edited by Raxe; 01-02-2017, 02:12 PM.Comment

I would pick MS over the war chip, especially for your setup. Running any style of calculation mode will be less of a headache than dealing with the war chip software. Keep in mind the miller maf conversion is not a true conversion. There's no hardware to take the MAF signal and convert it to the exponential AFM style. And Miller neither took that into consideration nor changed any AFM table values, instead making a painful fueling table that's.... Nevermind. Just, you're better off with MS here.
You can still keep MAF and ICV with MS btw, no need to worry. You don't really need an ICV but it's nice to haveComment

You Can't run WAR properly without the TS anyway right ? I've seen war used with RHD but it used a spacer to fit TS near thermostat housing89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

Ah, TPS was always my interpretation since "s" could be switch or sensor.
Motronic will run w/o the TPS, it will just never ignore the o2 like it's supposed to during WOT (probably how the MAF "works" with the WAR stuff).Comment

Just ordered an MSPNP2 tonight. Decided if I'm going to have a go at learning and setting things up myself I don't want the headache of reading/writing countless times on the flaky old Miller software. The discussion between other standalones was definitely interesting, but I'm pretty sure this car won't see a more modern/advanced engine in the future and the MS support seems to be fairly user friendly for a tuning beginner like myself.Comment

It has one jammed up near the firewall on the 5-6 throttle, hard to access but it's there.

That's normal potentiometer style tps and will work fine in alpha-n setup with megasquirt. Or alpha-n+speed densidy mode. The stock m20 tps is just thorttle switch as digger already suggested. It just tells to the stock m20 ecu if the car is at WOT or not. Nothing else. So the stock m20 "tps" is not good for itb setup.Comment

yeah you have the right part for MS or any standalone, but not for the WAR chip is what i was trying to convey.89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...
