This might be one of my favorite R3v threads. Just read through this over the last couple days.

Any updates? Summer months are here, maybe there's some news! Would love to hear about what changed over the last year!

I am pretty fired up to have found this thread today. I am building a very similar setup with my Touring, and I am in the final stages of engine bay planning before painting and dropping in the motor. I am thankful I found the details about the hoses from your cylinder head to the heater core, as I to am going to run ITBs and I would rather have this all piped correctly vs having to figure it out in a few months time. I am curious if you remember what coolant hose worked. Was is just a parts store find? Or were you able to specifically locate the right connection based on another model of car. Your knowledge may save me some time.

Thank you for the information thus far!

    Right on!

Met some of the writers for the mag when they came state-side and did the feature on the Condor GRM car and Good & Tight's turbo m30, those poor Brits were melting in the Florida sun lol.

Do anything to the head other than +1 valves?

Another year, another quick update! Still have the car, still in love with it. I don't get to drive it as often as I'd like, but there are a few nice days scattered throughout the summer when I can take it out and enjoy it. Haven't really modified or done anything on it for a couple years... I never thought it was possible, but I'm actually content with it just the way it is now and don't feel the need to change anything.

There is some exciting news about it though (for me at least )... it was featured in Performance BMW Magazine August 2019! I've been reading PBMW for years and years, always grabbing the issues that featured R3V members cars, never imagined one day my own would make the cut.

Bump for dyno? R3V needs to start a Gofundme for you because we all want to see what this thing makes.

Had some time to work on the car today and spent the afternoon installing a Z3 rack with 2.7 lock to lock ratio. Definitely worthwhile! It's something I've been wanting to do for years and finally picked one up and got around to making it happen, my only regret is not doing it earlier.

Also working on something else exciting, hopefully towards the end of the year... to be continued!
