    Prog?

    Chapter: Thalia & Melpomene

    Coming along

Ported Driver side and snagged some old headlight rings and gave them a brushed look

New Bumber shocks while in there, CCA badge transfered.

Duct work complete with mounting tabs

    Slip fit

    Bumper Refinishing Complete

    Thinking of what to do

SEM Trip paint, well see how it last. Seemed to much risk having it coated, and the finish damaged and the tape line not being right.

And fresh lens's W/ a smack of nigh shades internally. I always loved that honeycomb look like those 90's Firebirds had.

After all the pieces were Ceramic coated individually, and the back side of the bumpers got a coating of cavity was it was ready to reassemble.

The Grills also got a coating of ceramic coating, I was quite pleased on how its cleaned up and kept the trim work fresh so far. New foam on the top of the grills! I still need to paint the turn signal lens screws.

I have finally the bright work completed on the driver side. The first time ive had the rain gutter trim on, all this work also ceramic coated, since its now raw metal with no anodizing.

Fresh! I bet the bumpers at .050 thinner! But wait, whats that uhaul trailer?

After a snack, Sometimes I forget which one to eat..

The car is loaded for a trip.

    Snacks galore

Conveniently dropped the car off at tuning shop in North Carolina and picked up a trailer in Florida line up! Stage Fab forgot my appointment, and I don't think put enough time into the tune that it should have had. It idle surged in the parking lot before test drive, which comes back while around town driving... Later on found consistent adaptation faults (like 30%) while highway cruising, and a weird sputter at 7300. YAY. They were dealing with a bad ECU causing random misfires. Bummed, all is normal Till this day driving around, More motivated for standalone.

The Car keeps getting closer to complete than ever before. I put the valance back on because it just sat at the body shop not getting touched. Passenger side bight work complete!

A good detail means another trip is due, and new driving shoes :) Stoked!

Here we go! Louisville, Columbus - NIN, Erie, Watkins Glen - BMW CCA CR / Hiking, Philadelphia -The Mars Volta - Pittsburgh, Home

    NIN, second time this year!

The next morning were off, when possible, back roads. New York gets beautiful around Watkins Glen

    WERK

Offset bushings arn't all the same... And there is nothing really for STD E36 geometry control arms on 96+ M3 knuckles.. They all add to much caster. .

    So SLR it is

    Getting alignment lock back down

The car was hooked... maybe too hood. More work cut out for us... Slight roll. :(

Took about a year but finished out a TV stand.. But I love it!

    Mission accomplished

    Just for fun

    Prog?

    Yus

Front valance is coming around, probably loss 5lbs in paint and filler.. Luckily no real surprises. Still need finish sanded, I got all the easy areas.

A little corner crease, but not too bad..

These are Intergalactic back order next to probably NLA so I found some Reps on Ebay. A few to choose to see what I think. I already know the answer, do you?

Windshield banner, Helps with sun alot with lowered seats.

These little tabs I was so excited about?

Welp, the new genuine grills don't have them... WTF M9

So I made them. Not as aggressive as the Abraham Motorsport rep units. Maybe Rep units to Motorsport grills?

More work done to the valance. Bumper stripped, easy as it was just spray paint. The powder coat shop had no issues with this. Went over with a light blast media. Then I sanded it down to a brushed look. The next question, will clear powder coat work on these?

New bumper impact strip to go along with the new look!

The rear bumper... This was blasted and powder coated before.. When the powder coater was stripping it they had a really tough time... Oddly. And they told my they weren't quite what is was coated in? So on... they had to use very course media... Not easy to sand out, requiring lots of different grit of belt sanders, At least its lighter... A lot of work!

    Getting there

MMM, Back to the ITB project! Time get them ready

Polishing up - Iphone likes to take sideways photos..

Oh baby, glamour shots with the RRD adapter.

I do enjoy the carbon hood I have, but fitment is OK, and needs more finish work. Weight is 11.5 LBS or so. Its constructed well, But I my first love came back in stock. Randomly searching for something else... A karbonius E30 carbon hood popped up on google saying instock @ Turner. So I called immediately and ask they put their hands on it. It seem surly they arn't making any more of these from the sound of things before hand calling everywhere including in europe... Weird enough they had it in stock and I ordered it for will call. Turner / LOL ECS is about 3.5H away, worth the drive to rule out the risk of it getting damaged during shipping. This is the same hood motorsport24de sells for their carbon E30 hood. And man it was nice and equal weight finished!

Assembly of the S54 ITB kit was pretty simple since I did all the hard work when the engine was out

Woot, Now what to do for tuning? It actually drives...

    JULY 2022

Progress? HOT.... So I decided not to drive and knock out more items on the to do list

I hate the weather here, please move.

But I sure wish I could get some more driving in...

Welp, I got some new wheel to fit the style of the car better. Felt it out with the kooglewerks spoiler. It'll be a bit till I mount up the spoiler, I'm still working on mechanical grip. Not like this aero is that substantial..

I decided to finally get the bumpers sorted. Fitting the NOS front bumper shrouds. One needed a confidence boost after setting around for years..

Did my old night shades inside of the side reflectors. They are no longer wired up.

    Brake ducts fitted

Finally got some LTW in on the front

Feels good, Checking the CAD work for the air dam

    Getting stoked

Fantastically the back side of the passenger side grill line up with the airdam, the driver side is off, but maybe I could order one that has more air openings for the radiator.

    What a secrete.

    Fitting up

    STOKED

While here I finally got to do some finish work on the oil cooler brackets

The fan mount got some too, Need all the CFM available.

No body shop wants to touch this valance. Even if offered to bill me by the hour... One guy mentioned that his guys cant focus for that long... But I still dig deeper into looking for restoration shop that'll enjoy the work... So as usually, I get to work

    What will we find.

    Werk.
99 Lives on and Got some support in BMWCCA PWR2 class

323 Cartech turbo car has been freshen up

Play with oddball stuff, get oddball results. FFFFF

    More X5d's...

And some Goods to just help out the day
    Fresh E88 combos

    GTMORE

I despise Photobucket and it was a hard trigger to pull when actually paying for after they destroyed the internet..

But what do you expect out of a free service.. Free.. ha And I'm pretty sure they are in it together.

SO... I finally figured out the photos that wouldn't load were RAW format on the I phone.. I had this issue before and quit using the RAW formatting, looks like that option got changed while being in the pocket, and assumed that wasn't the problem but their primitive uploader..,

I had flickr for years, then even paid for a little bit, but their ads in-between pictures completely turned me off from them, they just started doing all the wrong things to foster a photography community IMO. Being tied to a proprietary yahoo email too - I just grew tired of them sadly, used to love that site.
