I put the guide coat on the first coat of primer, and it seemed to have been smooth. I hope I did everything right.
Ill do both of them. That makes sense.

    Thank you.

first block it... cause with that much primer you are going to be wavey.....
THEN wetsand to get a nice smooth even surface....

you should prob also throw on a thin layer of primer guide... or whatever you americans call it... my painters just call it primer or sanding guide... (thin layer of black paint from far away).... it will show you highs and lows... its the same as charcoal

you want to put the guide as the last step before base coat color... because even a single layer of primer can be too thick in ertain spots and you will end up with wavey panels... and that would be a big waste of time and money... cause you cant wet sand waves out

Thank you. That makes perfect sense.

If you can, get the booth. You won't regret it. I know a couple of people that have done it in their garage and it gets pretty intense. The paint gets everywhere. The fumes will drive you insane. Your garage, tools and contents will be red until you paint it some other color. Keep up the good work! We need more e30's driving in FL.

So today is quite a big update...

            I towed the car somewhere....

            Where do you think....

            Good enough answer?

            Wait... Is that paint?

            You bet...

            Paint before primer (base coat)

Now I didnt take these pics, as I was painting, so I dont know where they fall into place. Some were the first, second and third coat of clear.

Now I think these are pics of the completed car.

It may be the pics. I think I sprayed to heavy. I ran in a few spots, and at the start I didnt plan to use a booth so I bought quick hardener. Because of that I kept putting on coats to try to make it shiney. The owner of the shop after seeing it, told me what I did wrong and we sanded the car down and repainted it today. It came out wa better when I bought the slow hardener.

So the hood had a lot of fisheye. I have spent the ladt two days trying to fix it. I tried numerous things

I tired to sand it smooth

                      Then wetsand it

                      So I used paint stripper

                      All stripped

                      Primer sealer

                      Filler applied

                      Removed the tape

                      In the sunlight

                      Look how smooth it is

lookd great. Why you got super gap in your rear bumper?

                        Comment

Thanks, the gap is because I didnt mount the bumper. just put it in place to have more room in the garage.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been really busy lately with test after test.
I have a small update picture wise today.
I got the headliner put in

Mounted the m tech kit, and the finished pics of the hood.

The rear lip looks a bit odd on the sides. Its okay an OEM one is coming soon enough

Repainted the front bumpers, I have to add another coat tomorow.

                                Rear window in

                                Windsheild in

                                Going to sleep
