What did you do to your E30 today?

Just filled my tank up with free gas.

Yesterday I did a valve adjustment, made things sound a bit less like a sowing machine.
Added some oil as my m20b25 leaks (cant wait to do a swap of some kind)
Took my radio out, still need to remove the front speakers.
Installed a dash mounted horn button because steering wheel quick release race car shenanigans.

After four months, finally finished the manual transmission swap on my eta, installed 325i cat and muffler. It is a massive understatement to say that I am elated to finally have the car driving again!

RH guard off, RH door off, rocker cover off to inspect the Alpina cam for lobe wear (none), front bumper off, interior out, leather conditioned, ignition system off, cooling system out, radiator out, bonnet off, and I'm sure there's other stuff I'm missing. Finished at 4:30am this morning ha.

Added some coolant. Check light was coming on for the past two weeks if I cornered/accelerated decently, but kept forgetting.

I need to replace my alt belt and adjust the valves soon, but I'm so lazy.

Finally straightened my steering wheel after living with it slightly crooked for the past few months...

Gave her a bath.

New valve cover gasket + spark plugs. Had some fouling on plugs 4 and 5, so figured it was time to do that. Found a bolt hanging around in the valve train that I've yet to locate the source of, but it didn't manage to screw anything up so for now I sealed everything back up and went on with life.

Drove around a bit, nearly overheated in a drivethough (again) even though its only 5 above freezing out.

Not sure if the coolant really needed to be bled, temp gauge is farked, or if something is seriously wrong with the car. So I bled the coolant.

Washed, quick detailer spray, tire shine, waxed my windows. Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow and ruin it...

I nearly tripped over this. When I bent down to throw it out the way I realised the purple tag and the part number, so I ran as fast as I could and stuck it in my boot to take home. Just what I needed, a new steering rack.





Looks to be in mint condition too. :D
