Tried to find a nasty clunk in the rear end. I thought the driveshaft was toast, but turned out to be a broken rear muffler mount - made a temporary mount, but will have to order a new one. The driveshaft is nonetheless on its way out, just wasn't clunking as much as the mount. My left rear axle has a fair amount of play in it too so this summer I will have to give the e30 some decent car R&R.Last edited by lukeADE335i; 08-22-2016, 04:47 AM.Comment

Drove it today. Happened to see a modified F-something M3. That thing is FAST, though I didnt think he expected my lowly plain looking E30 to be with him at 120+mph. On a closed course of course ;)Simon

Figured out my head scratching charging issue was a connector that wasn't plugged in....derp....Comment

I didn't roast mine on a spit, but I finished changing the timing belt, water pump, cam sprocket seal, and anything else that broke along the way. Yay tomorrow I can drive it! Just need to burp my baby's coolant a bit and then enjoy until I feel like tackling the next project.Comment
