Oh crap you're right. I can leave as is then, i'll be adapting a smaller, new compressor in order to fit power steering and A/C. The 333i owners had to pick between the two due to the limited space.

That seems unlikely. I see no reason for having to choose between one of those two - one is on the left side, and one is on the right.

The only thing I can think of is the SA 333i ran a 2-belt main pulley to save a quarter of an inch on the front of the motor, but that also seems unlikely.

Whether or not it seems likely to you, that was the choice they had to make. Either power steering, or A/C

but they are so far apart, that's like saying you can a front brake, or a rear differential. Not both.
