Hey guys, can someone point me towards a good set of on/over ear headphones between $120-150? I'm looking to get my brother a good set of headphones before he gets deployed this coming January. He likes old school rap/dubstep type shit, so I figure some good bass is important.
I've had Beats and they basically suck, mine broke 2 months into ownership...2007 Range Rover Sport S/C

I really like my Sony MDR 7506s, they're in your price range and are pretty awesome for the price. Decent ambient noise insulation (~5dB or so), rugged and unkillable (maybe not in combat), very good sound, decent bass...
great all around headphone.
Very similar model is the MDR-V6. No personal experience, but they're cheaper. Dunno how they last, but my 7506s have been going strong for nearly 10 years of daily use without issue.

^ The v6's are identical except for the plug, where the 7506 have gold plated. My V6's have stood up fine so far (over a year) of being used everywhere and jammed into a backpack. The included bag is nice, fits my headphones, ipod and charging cable into a nice pouch that protects them from surface scratches.

The best part is the detachable cable from the headphones, You never have to worry about tripping over the cable(which is FUCKING long) and ripping the cable. Sennheiser sells replacement cables as well, although you might want to look into a shorter cable.

If you buy them, buy from ProAudioMart on ebay. They are an authorized dealer, so you get a 1 year warranty with them. I think they accept any offer over $90.
