As much as I don't like Tanner, he seemed to be the only one who was ok in the show. It's watchable, but it definitely felt dumbed down for the Americans. I also had a very strong case of deja vu with a large lack of sarcasm and anger.

I dont buy that argument because the original had to reformat the show on their own, they didnt have a turn-key solution to copy. This is like a franchise. You dont buy into KFC and copy the menu, store layout and clothing only to boil the chicken in piss instead of frying, do you?

I watched it last night, not too bad but you have to give it time. Top Gear UK is on season 15 so it takes a while to develop that chemistry between the hosts. It'd be better if Foust didn't suck at commentating and wasn't driftastic with every car he drives.

I really think they are trying to be too much like the UK version. I think they would have more luck to keep the same concept for the show but give it some unique twists to separate itself from the OG version.

Completely agree, it looked like they were trying to be the cast of the uk version.

You guys are also forgetting that both May and Clarkson have a journalist background in cars they are trained in properly describing. Both Hammon and Clarkson are also very well rounded in television, writing, and radio. None of these three U.S. guys are experienced enough to HOST a show, sure all three have been on tv but none as hosts. These guys also work together for the magazine, they have built a lot of chemistry to make that show work; these 3 won't.

We are on the same page, these guys just aren't eloquent enough or comfortable enough to be on par with TGUK.

I enjoyed the fat guy actually, I thought he represented "americana" the best as far as car enthusiasts go.

                          The other two can go.

Throw in fat guy, jay leno for interviews, and find a queer car enthusiast and you'll have the perfect mesh.

As considered to Top Gear UK season 1, it wasn't bad, but as compared to Top Gear UK season 15, duh it wasn't as good. For what it was I was entertained for a while, that being said, I turned it off halfway because it just got old and there wasn't any actual information or humor in it.

The hosts sucked when compaired to UK TG but I expected a little more technical information on the cars at least. Watching the hosts pretend like they know eachother is painful. Im looking forward to the used car tests. If that doesnt spark something I wont be a fan.

Just watched the second eposode and I must say it was much better than the first. There were some sick shots or the evo ripping through the snow. And I was wide eyed the whole time durring tanner teaching the blind guy to drift. Cool factor went up in my book.
