Awesome pic of the aurora borealis!

Also, I just recently went to a wedding in NY and literally spent 20 minutes putting lenses in and out of my bag wanting to travel lightly. I ended up just going with my 28mm and 50mm. I think the 28mm is probably the best considering I was going to be in a city and around a lot of people at dinner in low lit situations.

If your shooting a 24-105 at 24-40 at most I think the 28mm would be your best option all around as for a walk about lens your prolly going to find the 35 to be just a little bit too long. I do with my 17mm on my OMD, and really wish we had a fast prime other than the 12mm (f2 that I just cant seem to bring myself to buy) that would get me into 20mm equivalent range

One from about 4 hours ago, and my 6d and 24-105

and a few hours before that on a little hike just below the snow line, about a 1/2 a mile up the trail the snow was still 2 feet deep.

      Edit:

Just happened to check the KP forecast for the night and it looked like we had a slight chance to see the Aurora. With it being clear and No moon tonight I decided to stay up and see what I could see. Had them low on the horizon from about midnight to 4am

Just another day in Montana lol......
      beautiful
what kind of fish do you pull from the river? what river is it?

George. In the top pic that is the North fork of the flathead river North of the great Northern Flats. Its COLD clear and low in nutrients, so you get good eating size Rainbows and Cut throats 8-14 inches, mostly on Fly rigs or small spoons. Outta some of the deeper holes you might get very lucky and score a Bull Trout and maybe even a Wall hanger, though fishing for intentionally or keeping a bull is a NO NO on the North Fork, On the south fork there is a 2 fish limit per year with a stamp. Supposedlly there are some northern pike in there though I have never heard of them much further north than the flats. Whitefish is also fairly common in the northern reaches of the river as well....

The 2ed one is from the upper reaches of Big Creek far up in its drainage right around where most maps change names to hallowat creek and thought I dont doubt there are some fish in it someplace Fishing is closed year round on Big Creek and all its tributaries. Not to mention Fishing on the north fork is closed with in 100yards or more at its confluence with Big Creek form june to Oct IIRC.....

these are near to your place right?
          stunning
reminds me why I was always in trouble as a boy scout at camp in the high sierra in northern California. I'd always be walking the rivers nearby in search of trout when I should have been somewhere else.

yeah if the roads are in decent shape (before all the tourists tear them up and wash board them to all hell) I can be to the 1st spot in about 1/2 hour and that section of big creek in about a hour and 20 min and a hour or so hike

Attempted a Brenizer Method portrait the other day in Sedona by Cathedral Rock.

This is about 28 photos or so stitched together to make a wide panorama looking shot while using my 85mm 1.8 on my 6d.
