if you don't know anything about dSLRs, get a T3i, not a 5D mk II.

If there is any way that you could possibly get more camera gear for cheap, by all means, I'd love to know. ;):D

You think? I agree and disagree while the t3i is more for beginners, it Won't hinder him to start with a pro camera. He'll just have to grow into it and I'd rather grow into then out of something. But I agree the t3i Is perfectly capable of capturing great photographs. I just got a 7d and am now trying to grow into it lol. I cant wait to take some classes next fall. As a self tought musician I never felt the need to study it at school it was arrogance. I wish now that I did. I won't make the same mistake with photography lol.

I'm so Addicted to Image Stabalization that Im having trouble choosing lenses without it, Although my new cam has great high iso performance and I can always bump it up to get faster shutter speeds. I love shooting this kind of shit ( http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=737713 ) so I very often shoot with high f#s (i like more DOF usually) at really low shutter speeds (1/20) at 50-100mm to , I'm worried that without IS (if I buy the 24-70 f2.8) I'll miss out. But with concerts obviously the 2.8 will reign supreme! Is it really just a question of what's more important to me? Getting PAID to do concerts or fart around with my abstract fragment urban pics?

Trees growing out of trunk and roof! :tsk: Also You should take another 2 shots one that exposes your background and pavement nice and one that exposes the sky nicely. Then blend the 3 exposures. Its like hdr but less fake looking and It won't contrast your strobes so hard making the shot look more natural.

if not hrd then what would it be called?
i think he was going for that look or he would just not use the strobes.
