Regardless if you were at work, at school or just walking down the street... a shirt like that is not something that a mature adult wears. It may say Fresh as Fuck, but when I see stuff like that it reads "I'm a tool".

Your reasoning was that you're an adult and you should be free to express yourself, and that is the picture you choose to paint of yourself for everyone? Plain and simple, you are still a kid and you will continue to be one until you grow up and learn how to properly behave like an adult contributor to society. You need respect people... especially a person of authority like your college professor.

Things like this should be common sense. I don't care how smart you think you are or anything like that, you are clearly not prepared for the real world... you just don't understand how to act. I really don't think you need to dress professionally to class, just dress in an appropriate manner (like a shirt that could potentially be deemed offensive should not be worn to class)... save it for a house party or something where all of your douchebag friends will think it is rad bro.

Pretty much it. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. It's social etiquette.

          ???

Social "etiquette" has been around since the beginning of society. It's also know as "manners", though honestly I'm not sure what happened to those...

Manners have their place and time, but at a CC class? Sounds like people imposing their opinions on others to me.

Isn't the whole point of OP wearing the shirt in the first place was to impose his opinion of himself or his style onto others?

Seriously, just because you can do something doesn't mean you can or you should. Be mindful of others.

Put it this way, OP says he wears the shirt to express himself and his shirt so happens to have a profane word on it (even if its missing a letter we get the concept) but would you say the f word out loud in that classroom environment for any reason at all and complain if you were to get kicked out?

Yes, you have freedom of speech but that doesn't mean you can say whatever you want wherever you want and not have consequences. Written or said verbally that word has no place anywhere.

I don't want to have to explain to my 9 year old why some dumbass is wearing stuff with bad words on it.

If I was your prof, I'd be sure to grade all your work with an extra-harsh eye.

Listen up retard. It's his class, he can tell you what to wear. College is a privilege, whether or not you pay for it. You said you wanted to be treated like an adult? Guess what, in some situations you can't wear whatever the fuck you want. It's an institute of higher education, not a fucking nut gargling dong chugging 4/20 party at hippie hill.

Wearing it in class basically says that you have no concept of dressing appropriately for occasion and that you just don't give a fuck what you do with your life and that you have no respect for anyone else.

Wearing FUCK shirt at those emo-goth metal circle jerk/dick sucking stoner partys you go to=fine.
Wearing it any where else= not appropriate.

I wouldn't wear that shirt to work on a car, mow my lawn, insulate my attic, as a layer for warmth. I rarely wear any logo tee's any more.
Manners is a good word to apply to this thread.

They're people too and there are ones that are productive members of this society, believe me I live in California. I still don't get how you guys are making this miraculous connection between what he wears in school being the same with what he'll wear for a job. Typical r3v sensationalism since... 2003?

Lol at best. Imposing, in this situation, would look more like while wearing the shirt he and also yelling at the teacher on how fresh as fuck he thought he was. If you have the freedom of speech and you can't say whatever you want to then you don't have a freedom of speech. No double speak here!
