The official "business jargon" you hate to hear thread

    "Down the pipe"
    "get traction"
    "let's connect"
    "touch base"
    "out of pocket"
    "let's synergize"
    "Best practice"
    "Get Leverage"

STFU with all this BS fancy trendy office talk.

    "We'll punt from there"

    "Remain competitive"

    "shoot an email"

"this has to be done last week"

    "that dog won't hunt"

"strategic planning" - is there any other kind?

Most of those aren't that bad.

Synergy is the worst by far.

Going forward, let's be more proactive about promoting synergy within this thread. For all intents and purposes, I believe that's what the OP was looking for at the end of the day. Where are you guy's at on this?

                I can not stand "IMPACTFUL"

It is not a word (or at least is not correct). People in my industry use it constantly. It spread like wildfire a few years ago, and thankfully is calming down.

                  Its a real word.
I use it when describing how many users rebooting a server will affect.

To your point, I have heard "impacted" used by many IT types when they shoot out their mass email announcements. To piggy-back off of that, those changes are often necessary to allow the mission-critical action-items to be completed. Otherwise, things may need to be tabled for a bit rather than growing the business. And that would impact our metrics something fierce.

We'll circle back to that later, but keep me in the loop.

I suppose you'd defend irregardless too? There are a lot of shitty words that make it into dictionary.com because people use them often. It does not validate them and should not be encouraged. We'll put this in the "parking lot" for later consideration. From a 30,000 foot view, it is all the same bull shit.

These cliche expressions are becoming obnoxious as well:
A broken clock is right twice a day
A high tide rises all boats
                              Low-hanging fruit
                              Leave money on the table
                              Run it up the flagpole
